A busy year , two western Canadian tours (one all the way to Vancouver Island ) and one eastern Canadian trip and a bunch of shows in southern Ontario - to promote my solo cd - my agent says he's going to try and have me play 200 next year ! - we will see what happens - can i survive it ? can he get that many shows ? Also this year i did a pile of shows as live guitarist and sometimes recording guitarist for Delerium . Most notable was an Eastern Europe tour ... that brought us all the way to Moscow - to bring the music of Bill Leeb and his co-writing singers to all those folks . Delerium also did a US tour where we made and met more fans including the actor who played "Pedro" from "Napolean Dynamite" ... "vote for Bill Leeb" was a tshirt that he gave Bill ! lol ... for real . Fun stuff . Now i head down to towards the Equater to write songs and read and surf for 6 weeks - I will be online everyday at some point - so i will update with new info . VERY SPECIAL THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO CAME TO MY SHOWS THIS YEAR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I Just added another song from my new cd - "Nova Girl" to the "myspace music player"- I wrote this song and put it on the first Jack Tripper CD - my old band - it ended up in the movie "The Guilty" starring Bill Pullman - I re-did the song for my new cd - with a more acoustic approach - with a string section - what a thrill it was to record a string section -chills! ! anyway , just posted it October 25th/2008 - enjoy From sept 11 to October 7th I toured with Delerium - - just finnished another tour this year playing guitar for Delerium (with Leigh Nash and Kristy Thursk on vocals) - (we also toured Eastern Europe this year )- Great tour thanks to all the fans who supported us - A dvd is being made of this tour - look for it in the new year ? check youtube - "Delerium live" for all sorts of live vids - > 2008 was a busy year - lots of solo cd shows in Canada . a YouTube video was uploaded -thanks Shirley- of a show in London -Canada- vocals only thru the PA - a warm up show at The London Music Club - great place - great vibe - check it out - In May 2008 I went to Eastern Europe to tour with Delerium as guitarist - there are live videos of the band on this tour on YOUTUBE - check em out ! Also I just posted some photos in my Pics section . These shots are from Mike Hiratzka - he played bass on this tour and works with Kristy Thursk on her solo project - thanks for the pics Mike ! The guitar playing part of the story begins ... when I was 14 -I was an aspiring artist -illustrator - avid music listener . As a young teenager I took over the basement as an art studio , I set an area up to make home made animated movies .. I made two short clips - took forever . Anyway , I used to sit in front of my drawing board with headphones on (40 foot cable wrapped thru the basement over to my stereo - like a clothesline) . I thought I could draw more accurate guitar player pics if I took some lessons . Bam ! I was hooked on the guitar . Soon it took over and I let the drawing side go and pursued music . I have a solo cd out Sean Ashby Brass And Gold -produced by myself - and now ....drum roll please - the name dropping section ! - this cd was mixed by Warne Livesy -Talk Talk , The The , Happy Mondays , Midnight Oil , Jets Overhead and recently completed working with Chris Walla from the "Death Cab For Cutie" camp his solo cd .
