Sounds Like
Our own sound is a modern combination of styles inspired by groups such as Muse, Pink Floyd, Dream Theater, Evanescence, Marillion, Rush, Water Boys etc, with our own unique and contemporary rock feel. It is important to us to perform quality music that is not affected by the passage of time. We are often quite heavy, but able to play in any style so that we don't get pigeon holed. Three and four part harmonies are often used in vocals. We play a mixture of covers and our own material, but we avoid playing the types of covers that other bands play. We simply play music that suits the band. We admire proper musicians, and when we do choose a cover to play it is usually something a bit special.
Seance is a continuously developing project that aims to perform and create music that is original and interesting. You could describe us as a sort of modern progressive rock band. We admire proper musicians and do our best to make our music special. We like to play in a range of contrasting styles and are equally happy playing technical heavy music or quiet simple pieces that show off our vocalists. We use extremes in the music we play in terms of using all musical elements. We don't often play pubs or small venues - although we are able to play an unplugged version of everything we do. We try to play to audiences who want to (and are able to) listen to the full range of styles and musical skills that we offer.
The band have been gigging since 2003 and the current line up have been together since August 2007.
The band are currently writing new material and are looking forward to playing some good venues and raising the bands profile by being seen. Come and have a listen.
Hi Seance. Thanks for the Add. Hard luck in the BOTB and good to see you getting some gigs for the summer. We are playing CockRock as well as the Blues this year and hope to catch up with you. Thanks, Mark (Vertigo)

hiya Fliggy, didn't realise it was you till I read some of your profile - good luck with it, sounds really good! - we are doing really well - got great expectations this year! Finally seem to have a steady line up ! LOL Jude ps let me know what you think of my tunes, I like to know!! xx
Gr8 sound you've got there -sorry we missed 24/7. Would have liked to have seen you. Cheers for the request. I like your comment about being choosy where you play, it's difficult in West Cumbria, but it's great when people just want to sit and listen and watch, and not treat you like the jukebox in the corner. Send us a comment back - Cheers Jude x
Hi Ali and thanks for pointing this out. Yes we are aware of the clash, although we should point out that this was not intentional. We were limited in options for the date for FurnessFest due to other local events, other large national festies and availability of our venue (as it is farmland). We don't think this should be a problem for either event and there could actually be some benefits. For example; increased buying power for required equipment could be increased by way of doubling up orders with contractors for both events. We will be in touch with CockRock with a message of support and hope to meet to explore opportunities. Thanks again for raising the issue.
