The Sean Chronicles's Interests
|
| General | Music. Welding. Ceramics. Gardening. Animals. LoriO.
Not necessarily in that order.
Reading and writing. | | Music | If it's mostly acoustic and played by people who don't suck at playing music, sure. | | Movies | Cool Hand Luke. | | Television | Not a big fan... which means I watch too much and very little of it is worth watching. | | Books | I tend to read a lot of trail guides, species identification references, gardening tutorials, welding and metallurgy, ceramics techniques, and other non-political non-fiction.
The writing of Ayn Rand, Ed Abbey, Kurt Vonnegut, Elmore Leonard, Isaac Asimov, and Woody Allen created the mold from which my personality was cast. | | Heroes | I'm an adult.
My heroes are all dead... so it's up to you and me.
If you can't do something smart... do something right.

The Sean Chronicles's Blurbs |
About me:
I'm a fully-qualified misanthropologist.
I like fast motorcycles, the smell of burning coal, the ring of a hammer on an anvil, the ultraviolet snap of a struck arc, sharp knives, quick wits, cold beer, the mournful drone of bagpipes, punk bluegrass played live, hockey, curling, furry animals, pretty flowers, the dangerous beauty of cactus, and cheese.
I admire talent in others. In fact, I admire many qualities about the people around me, and often I admire the qualities I lack.
I tell the truth, as I see it, here... on the ground.
I am mostly successful... however, I believe my failures, like my successes, have more to do with the Law of Unintended Consequences than with anything I ever did or failed to do.
Regardless, a man learns nothing from winning... yet the act of losing can elicit great wisdom... not the least of which is how enjoyable it is to win.
I think John Adams said that... or Ben Franklin... one of those guys
I'm looking forward to the big pop: The day someone realizes my genius and talent for a) understanding what's happening inside the heads of everyone around me, b) extrapolating that out to the culture-at-large, and then c) distilling it all down to pithy statements of cynicism and aggravation.
What does something like that pay?
|
Who I'd like to meet:
Those who are sick from experience... and who understand the righteous honor of the unhinged mind... who know what it feels like to either care deeply about a thing, care not at all about it, or who are content to provide worthy commentary and (when appropriate) criticism about the thing, itself, or the aggregation of people around it.
And hopefully you're fucking funny, too.
