For maverick producer Sean Genockey it’s fair to say that music is a lifelong obsession. If he’s not producing it, mixing it, writing it or playing it then the chances are he’ll be watching it, listening to it, reading about it or talking about it.
A cul-de-sac in a leafy corner of SW London isn’t where you’d expect to find a hotbed of musical activity but Black Dog, the studio that Sean set up at the beginning of 2006, is exactly that. Here he indulges his obsession and his impressive and diverse CV ranges from current buzz bands like Baddies, To The Bones, Iko and The Black Swan Effect to music industry stalwarts including Manic Street Preachers, Suede, Starsailor, Kula Shaker and Ronnie Wood.
He’s not afraid to experiment with new recording techniques or equipment or to take an artist out of their comfort zone but with a guitar-playing and songwriting background Sean has a greater appreciation of the recording process through the eyes and ears of a musician. It’s these skills that have helped to make him into one of the most in-demand producers around.
One studio. One moustache. Lots of guitars.

We are well and good thanks Sean, been working hard on new material, got some tasty new tunes for the studio with you hopefuly. Including loads of cowbells and coconuts (yes you heard me right!).
ITC was a waste of fucking time for us, but we hear it's common for bands to get unlucky that way.
Dave is adament it's good we can 'say we played it' you know? We're much more people-minded than industry-minded. Makes much more sense when the gig's actually got a good atmosphere lol!
