The Sean Healen Band plays original Rock-N-Folk-N-Roll! Sean Healen is the principal writer/Singer/rythm Guitarist John Kurzweg is the bandleader/arranger/lead guitarist/backing vocals/sometimes co-writer/ producer! John Kurzweg is an exceptional and noteworthy musician and platinum record producer! He has produced such notables as Creed,Puddle Of Mud,Jewell,Eagle Eye Cherry/Big Head Todd and The Monsters etc.. We are incredibly fortunate to be working and playing with John! Matt Deason is playing Bass! Mattrock is amazing! Matt is a world class bass player who has worked with such notables as drummer Rick Allen and members of Blue Oyster Cult! We have had a rotating cast of drummers for awhile and are actively seeking a drummer for tour! In the last two years we have done concerts with Junior Brown,James McMurtry and the Heartless Bastards,The English Beat,The Iguanas,The Santa Fe Muzik Fest, and the Thirsty Ear Music Fest. We just did a show with The amazing Chuck Prophet and his band! Killer show!! Notable celebrities in attendence at shows include Russell Crowe, Lou Reed, Laurie Anderson,Val Kilmer,Saturday Night Live Cast members,Wes Studi,Larry Mitchell etc... We are currently recording our new CD which is being recorded and produced and co-written at The Kitchen with John kurzweg!! Working with John in the Studio has been incredible and humbling! His level of talent, proficiency, insight and melodic sense is genius! Thank you JOHN!! "The Sean Healen Band is arguably one of the best live acts in Santa Fe. Healen's influences range from the experimental rock of Pink Floyd to the political inclinations of Steve Earl." Gabe Gomez The Santa Fe Reporter "Alt. country rockers The Sean Healen Band has recently been in the studio of it's lead guitarist. There wouldn't be anything unusual about this except that it's guitarist is John Kurzweg, a music producer who brought bands like Creed, Puddle of Mudd,Jewel,Eagle-Eye Cherry and Big Head Todd and the Monsters to their uber famous statures. The Sean Healen Band is inching toward similar heights, so the time is now to invest on the ground level." Gabe Gomez The Santa Fe Reporter "This stuff rocks in all the right places and rolls where you want to." Wes Studi John Kurzweg's Bio: John Kurzweg is probably best known as the producer(and or mixer) for multi Platinum rock acts Creed,Puddle of Mudd and Eagle Eye Cherry. In 2001 he also produced and mixed a single for multi platinum singer Jewell(Atlantic). John has also produced and mixed for many other label artists you may or may not have heard of--- Social Burn(Electra),No Address(Atlantic),Cinder(Interscope),Double Drive(Roadrunner),LoungeFly(RCA),Mo Leveret(Storyville),House Of Dreams(Ichiban),Noel Hartough-Mile(Sony) and many he has probably forgotten to tell us about. Most do not know John's early history----he started piano lessons when he was 7,guitar lessons at 11, and by the time he was 13; considered somewhat of a guitar prodigy, he was playing gigs for money in Richmond Va. with a band of musicians much older than himself---many bands, gigs, and different instruments later(john played in several favorite Tallahassee Fl bands and pick up gigs with Chuck Berry and Percy Sledge),---Kurzweg procured a record deal with Atlantic Records an 1986 and in 1987 released a solo album using his middle name---"John Philip"---the album sold 9 1/2 copies so by 1989 John found himself back in Fl broke, dealess, and playing bars again---however--now he had an 8 track reel to reel, a mixing board, and some mics---so----why not produce some bands on the side? Well thats what he did----In 1996 he started work with what seemed then "just another local Tallahassee band", a band called Creed--and as they say---the rest is history. In 2003 John moved to Santa Fe NM where he has a separate recording studio on his beautiful high desert property--the studio has a spacious, live drum room, a great 1979 Gretch maple kit, some very cool guitars, amps, lots of great mics and plenty of Neve's,Gml's,Api's etc to "make things go boom".John is currently playing lead guitar with Santa Fe original favorite the Sean Healen band. As Kurzweg puts it,"Sean has that thing---great songs and a unique, compelling voice--his voice doesn't really sound like anyone else". The band hopes to have some songs recorded, misxed and out soon---yeah! So here's to soul and here's to essence----what really matters---keep it up John!

Sean-ola mi amigo,

You guys were fantastic at Willees this weekend!!! Seems I filled both your voicemail and inbox- but you can do that with yer best palios (Dr. Phil agrees dammit!)! Apparently, I met and harassed numerous relatives and various assorted folks online that night! Sorry the Willee's scene weirded me out, but you know Shi-pie... I ducked out due to the craziness on the dance floor and my weirdo baggage.
Can't wait for the upcoming gigs though and will be there with my SHB banner flying high!

Sean-ola mi amigo,

You guys sounded so fantastic at the Railyard opening- the audience was so digging the world class music that the SHB brought to the stage!!! Here's to an amazing CD Release party on the 20th- all those fortunate enough to be in attendance and pick up a copy of the CD, will know in their hearts (and ears!) the beauty of your music. I know it's been a long road my friend, but WOW WOW WOW what an amazing album- songs that just reach in and take the listener's beating heart and hold it in the song's hand tightly, then gently the next moment, connecting the listener to something momumental both inside themselves and outside themselves at once...
