MySpace a place for friends

Shooting - I strongly support the right to keep and bear arms, and enjoy any opportunity to go to the range. I also believe that any law abiding citizen should be able to own firearms, and should be allowed to carry a firearm on their person without regulation. Alaska and Vermont trust their citizens with this right - how about the other 48 states?

Reading - I love to read, but seldom get the chance to do so.

Hockey - I like hockey, and still have a soft spot for the Washington Capitals. With no local NHL team, I now root for the Des Moines Bucs, and the Iowa Stars. I also used to play in-line hockey.

NASCAR - I enjoy watching NASCAR, and my favorite drivers are Kurt Busch, Denny Hamlin, Tony Stewart, Matt Kenseth, and Jeff Burton.

Genealogy - This is an interest that comes and goes. Probably because I get interested, find a bunch of new information, then run into a brick wall... and let things go for a while before getting into it again. I have been able to trace a couple of my lines back to the 10th Century. I think it is important for my kids to know where they came from.

Model Rockets - I would like to get back into model rocketry again. I used to do that when I was younger, and I would like to be able to do more with designing my own rockets from scratch, as opposed to buying pre-made kits.

Space Program - I have been following the space program since the days of the Apollo-Soyuz mission in 1975. I try to watch the launch of every shuttle mission, and have the mission patch from every US manned mission from Mercury to the Shuttle program. I believe that man's future lies beyond our own planet. The next logical step is to return to the moon, but we need to have a strong replacement for the Shuttle fleet. I still remember what I was doing when we lost Challenger and Columbia... do you?
