   About Sean J. Kennedy
In addition to frequent performances as a freelance drumset and percussion artist, Sean leads the critically acclaimed Philadelphia based jazz quartet, The Sean J. Kennedy Quartet. To date, the group has released two critically acclaimed CDs: Road to Wailea, featuring Larry McKenna and Queen Anne's Revenge, featuring Bob Mintzer, Liberty DeVitto, Frank DiBussolo, Erin Stroup, John Stenger and Raymond Clemens.

Sean has also had the privilege of performing and recording with many internationally acclaimed artists in a myriad of genres including Rock, Classical and Jazz, and has been able to perform on many of the world's finest concerts stages.

Sean is also in the process of recording a new studio CD with up and coming singer/songwriter Anthony Viscounte. Lots of great grooves, lyrics and a ton of guest artists...stay tuned...

Sean J. Kennedy uses Bosphorus Cymbals and Evans Drumheads exclusively.

Queen Anne’s Revenge is already creating quite a buzz, jazz legend Dave Brubeck recently wrote the following about Kennedy’s newest CD,
“All the guys in your group play great. Your drumming sounds like it should--it swings!”

Here's what some others are saying...

"This new CD is indestructibly outrageous, and inexhaustibly refreshing. Real jazz, played with commitment and artistic depth from all."
Tim Price, musician; educator; author

"Hey Sean,
QAR sounds great. Very soulful playing on your part. The band is great, too! I dug Lib's contribution, Mintzer, Munsters, Horace and that daunting cover!! best,"

Will Lee, Bass Player Late Night with David Letterman, and about 300 other projects! www.willlee.com

As stated in a recent review on Jazzreview.com, Kennedy's quartet is “creatively new, but built on solid foundations of traditional jazz.”   Philly2nite.com says..."These guys make other quartets look a little weak. They're tight, well-rehearsed and fun to hear."

The group can be heard regularly on Philadelphia radio stations WRTI-FM 90.1 FM, WLBS-FM, WRDV-FM and on Jazz 'n' Such: Carolina's Jazz 88.9 (Charlotte N.C.).

Thanks for the heads up! It's fixed now. A shame all I have is old, dark, bar footage. I am trying to get some current playing recorded for my personal site. How's everything?

So is Heather going to expect you to be whipping up some mean scrambled eggs on a regular basis now that all of these new frying pans are in the picture? Or will these pans be strictly for Bahn Frei and various other beloved train songs?

Sean,

The man who is on his way up and up and up. I'm amazed you remembered who I was back from the days of your first album. We'll definitely have to gig sometime. If you're ever short a horn or need another player on one of your tracks, give me a call. I'm not looking for $$$ (Although I'm not turning it down). I'd just love to be a part of some original stuff. I'm proud of you and miss you. I hope that doesn't gay even though we know there is nothing wrong with that.
