Sean smith is about to release his latest batch of songs titled "ACTION CITY". Recorded in Los Angeles and produced by David Immergluck (guitarist, Counting Crows), the album features Chris Seefried (Low Stars)on guitars and backing vocals, drummer extraordinaire Don Heffington and Immergluck on various guitars and bass. ACTION CITY boast a big rock sound over a laid back acoustic/Americana vibe,
with tasteful lead guitar and even a little fuzz bass thrown in courtesy of Immergluck.
Smith's music hearkens to Paul Westerberg, Elvis Costello, and Joe Stummer in its lyrical preciseness, raw moods, wit, grit, and power. ACTION CITY itself is focused on one mans attempt to make sense out of a rapidly changing world around him, as his familliar Manhattan landscape succumbs to an almost apocalyptic gentrification makeover.
Immergluck and Smith have developed a close working relationship over the years, which greatly influenced the way the album unfolded Of working together on ACTION CITY, Immergluck says "Sean's vivid songwriting just keeps getting better and better! ACTION CITY is the follow up to 2006's "Underachiever" ep, also produced by Immergluck and features the song "Girl In The Movie" produced by Jesse Malin.

ACTION CITY is set to be released in August 08 and a new band called SEAN SMITH & THE SETTING SONS is in the works to promote the album live starting this fall.
