I was given the nickname Muscle Shark while fighting in Japan. Not sure what is means but I thought it sounded good so I kept it. I pulled this info off the Bio page of my website, until I can figure out what else to say I'll leave it on here.
The story of Sean Sherk begins in 1973. Born in St Francis MN, Sean began wrestling at a the young age of 7. Over his 12 year competive wrestling career he racked up over 400 matches.
In the mid 90's he began to dabble in martial arts, after coming to the Minnesota Martial Arts Academy in 1994. He began to study Boxing, Shoot Wrestling, and Muay Thai. He soon found that his wrestling background gave him a distinct advantage on the mat. His NHB coach Greg Nelson, owner of the M.M.A.A., remembers that He was extremely tenacious and would never quit In the year 2000 Sean continued his love for wrestling by hooking up with the St. Cloud State Wrestling team.
Sean soon found the desire to compete to irresistible. In 1999 he went for it and competed in his first NHB fight. This was a tournament style competition, which he won after defeating two opponents.
Sean has always found an affinity for Pitbulls, and regularly plays with his dog Soco. Believe it or not but he has also watched nearly every episode of Friends multiple times. He may be the only NHB fighter alive to record Friends so that he can watch it after his thrice daily training regimen.

Sean truly enjoys competing and looks forward to competing against the best opponents the world over for as long as he can.
On 10/14/06 at UFC 64 Sean fulfilled his life long dream and became the UFC world champion.
