I am proud to have chosen to run as Libertarian. The party is strictly principled and promotes smaller, efficient government, and lower taxes which leads to more individual freedoms. This message does not need to be taught, it is already subscribed to by most American and especially in Lorain, Ohio.
I never intentioned to run for a public office, but I see it now as my civic duty. I have been a intense spectator to the last 8 years of Lorain government, including regularly attending council and committee meetings. More recently I have been working with certain members of council and writing on blogs that focus on being the watchdog for the city of Lorain. They have not been typical rantings, but instead they are results of many years of studying other city governments.
The problems that face our city are personal but not unique to Lorain alone. I have spent years studying how other peer cities have progressed into the future. Those studies and the contacts I have made around the country give me a unique skill set that is necessary for Lorain.
The challenge now is to provide information to the 70,000 people of Lorain that there is a choice to be made in November. I am a candidate that will represent the interest of every citizen of the city. No longer must Lorain accept the status quo of Democratic rule.
The election in November to elect 3 Council At Large has 4 options, the 3 incumbent Democrats, no Republicans and Myself, the Libertarian candidate. 2/3rds of incumbents were not even able to get 60% of the total votes cast in the last election. This election is winnable, and I will put forth every effort to get out the message of Liberty and become Lorain's first Libertarian lawmaker.
