About me: I believe Oakland is on the cusp of a great renaissance, but we are being held back by a soaring crime rate, an epidemic of blight, and a government that shuts out our citizens. I'm running for District 3 City Council because I want to help move us forward and realize the amazing potential of this great city. For more information about my plans and priorities for Oakland, please visit my campaign website at www.seansullivan.org.
I'm proud to have the endorsement of Oakland City Councilwoman Pat Kernighan, Oakland City Councilwoman Desley Brooks, the East Bay Small Business Council, the Bay Area Reporter, and many others.
Who I'd like to meet: As I've gone through this district, I'm amazed by the number of people I talk to who have tried to take initiative to improve their own neighborhoods, but have felt like they do not have a partner in City Hall. I pledge to make my City Council office a resource for those dedicated citizens who want to make a difference in our communities. If you want to make Oakland a better place, I want to meet you, and I want to help you do it.

Mr. Sullivan- We're not making any political endorsements but we do appreciate candidates who try new methods of reaching constituents from all walks of life. Good for you for bringing your campaign to MySpace, and thanks for reaching out and adding us!
Private Interest is just That. Selfishness is last priority. Oakland as a whole and less crime. Alternative Transportation and STRONG SUPPORT of the Arts Community for the best Multi Cultural City in the US!!! Go Sean!!
thanks for the ad. I live and have my business based in da hood in West Oakland. Mixed feelings about Nadel and am curious to see what you will be doing.
One thing that needs to be done is there needs to be push to keep the A's in Oakland. There is still hope, but it needs to be relized by the City Council, who cont. to turn a blind eye to the problem and failing to relize how much Cisco Field would and can benefit the city of Oakland.
thanks for the add i hope you enjoy my page about the latino history and community of oakland ca .. my good freind has a buissness in old oakland gus from shoe stop also i,m good freinds with mario juarez the guy running against dela fuente good luck on your campaign..
When Sean is on the City Council, he'll be a great asset to the arts community. He helped me convince the city not to ban work/live spaces in large parts of Oakland's industrial areas.
He'll also be the first council member who isn't a Baby Boomer. Everyone on the council right now is 50 or close to it. I expect he'll pay much more attention to the growing community of young artists in West Oakland, and to the next generation of Oaklanders across the city.
As Chair of Oakland's Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee, I am fed up with the city's inaction on bike lanes and delay of sidewalk improvements. Sean Sullivan is the ONLY Council candidate in any race to make alternative transportation a priority. That's exactly the kind of commitment we need on the Council.
