Didgeridoo, the infamous German-born Waldorf Microwave XT, the ORIGINAL Roland TR-808 and TR-909 duo, Quasimidi the 309, the great Ensoniq TS-10, a host of EMU Samplers featuring their bandmaster 'E4XT-Ultra', and lately we've had Korg Triton Extreme sitting in with us as well...
One of Memphis' unquestionably most incredible and haunting musicians also happens to be Memphis' newest stop-animation guru as well. Check out the new Harlan T. Bobo video "One Of These Days" - at the time of posting this video has only been viewed 166 times... it is truly mesmerizing.
Some friends at Old School Pictures and I went to Nashville and worked on a reality pilot based around these guys, and this is the video that was shot by Glenn Sweitzer, who in addition to all four of the guys in the band is a really nice guy. It's great to work around nice guys who are also incredibly talented. I'm lucky in that respect...

I would like to say something in response to this however. Some ignorant genius decided that they would try to conjure up another similar group in Nashville and call them Whiskey Brown, also available for you to peruse on MySpace, of couse. Now this is just ridiculous... I could say much more, but I'll leave it at that.

Most of you Memphis folks know and love our good buddy Don Perry, photographer extraordinaire. Well, next Friday, 2/27, Don will be having a photo show at the Hi-Tone, and we'll be playing. I think the doors will open around 8 and you can come and check out Don's amazing pics, and even buy some of it. Don is doing really great work around town, documenting the music scene and the city of Memphis itself.
As usual, there's no opener. We'll start up around 10-ish, but get there before that so you can enjoy Don's photos without a couple of Fenders squawling in your ears.
The cover is - you guessed it - five bucks. See ya there!
Hey Sean! It was wonderful seeing you the other night!! I had a BLAST, that was my first time there. Everyone was so nice! Great crowd! Maybe we will cross paths again one day! Have a very Merry Christmas!! And a Safe & Happy 2009!!! See ya!! ~Cher
