Sounds Like
Styles
D'n'B, Breakbeat, Techno, Electro, Trip Hop, Ambient, Hip Hop, Funk, Rock, Industrial, Metal, Alternative, Instrumental, Accoustic sometimes a bit of ska/dub/reggae and everything in between as long as it's either hard & dark or dark & mellow e.g. funkyindustrialtechstepbreakhopcore.
Instruments
Drums, Guitar, Bass, Keyboards, Drum Machines, Samplers, Djembe, Congas, Didjeridoo, and occasionally vocals. Also I've been known to DJ at various parties and clubs.
I started making electronic music on my step-father's black and white SE/30 Macintosh when I was about 11 years old. We had an old midi set up with a Proteus and a Roland D110 (rackmounted sound modules) hooked up to a Yamaha DX7 (analogue keyboard with Midi) and a program called Vision.
My step-father (Graham Jesse) is into his jazzy/funky/latin/big band sort of stuff. He playes sax, flute, and clarinet, he used to be in the Midday Show band and he does a lot of sessions and plays in the pit for various musicals, so we've always had a piano, drum kit and various other instruments in the house.
As I grew up I realized how lucky I was to have all this stuff around me but I felt like "technical music" was restricting the possibilities of what music could be. The early 90's was such an orgasmic climax for music, I couldn't help noticing that acts like Ice Cube, Cypress Hill, the Prodigy, Nirvana, Rage Against the Machine, Metallica, Sepultura etc.all had something in common: nobody had taught these people how to do what they were doing! Even if they weren't the first to make that style they all had a unique sound which paved a path for so many people (such as myself) since.
When I was 14 I started working out how to play guitar from a small chord chart I found in a children's song book, after a few helpful pointers from my biological father (who loves his rock and blues) and some other friend who'd had guitar lessons it all seemed to come somewhat naturally. Soon after that I started taking the drums a bit more seriously (they've taken a lot more practice, especially going from single to double kick pedals). I've had a few lessons on piano guitar and drums (even a bit of singing and dancing) when I was younger but I've made a conscious effort to just use my ears and my own dicipline to keep me focussed musically without being too "technical" about it so as to develope and stay true to my own style. Ultimately I'd like to make a new path of my own, and I encourage others to do the same.
Perhaps none of the above mentioned bands would've had a chance or even existed if the punk era didn't happen. Punk changed the world in many ways, however there seems to be an element of ignorance and confussion on what its all about. I'm of the opinion that it was more about being yourself rather than some of the stereotypes you see around these days. I don't like to restrict myself to any particular sterotype for too long, however I have many influences and I like to work out their formulas and take them all into consideration.
I've played drums, guitar and other bits and pieces in a few bands e.g. Zeitgeist, Stackedovertandix, Booty and Playmates when I was younger and I've had various other random jamming, writing, gigs and recording sessions with various talented individuals since, it's great for the ideas, practice and experience, but it's not easy to find the nessessary chemistry of musicians with a common vision to form a band these days, so I work alone mostly, recording and programing tracks on Reason, Ableton Live and Logic in my home studio.
Now I have a portfolio of over 200 tracks, most of which I've produced without any assistance and my music has been used for films by Rohan Harris from Expect Problems e.g. "Insecurity" and a few other pieces of independant cinematography. Also I've been working with VJ Spook from V Jams and Nine09.
People always ask me "Why I don't get my music out there?!", I guess that's what I'm attempting to do now. The early '90's is back in style, I feel ready, this is the wave I've been waiting for!
If you or anybody you know wants music for a film or video game that's the kind of thing I'm interested in.
Sooner or later I'll bring out a debut, but untill then I don't mind if people want to use tracks I've already made otherwise I can taylor music for whatever's needed.
Stuff I Dig:
Painting, jewelry making, photography, ancient history, spirituality, ufology, saving the world, basketball, I also collect Lego, and Transformers, Star Wars, Alien and Predator models, comics and toys.

Thanks a lot for the add. EletriKa is complitly different of every Metal band you already know. Please, when you have a minute, just check EletriKa out, ok?
Hey buddy, just ONE MORE link for you, one of my absolute FAVOURITE pieces of music ever recorded, "Vrindivan" performed by L Subramaniam, Larry Coryell and Stu Goldberg. A very rare piece, only found on one record (now deleted and never released on CD) called "Solo, Duo, Trio". This piece is a perfect example of musicians from the "Literary" and "Aural" music traditions playing together. I suppose Subramaniam is actually a perfect example of an artist who has mastered both schools completely and without failure. Listen to the interplay between Violin and Keyboard. Some of the best playing I've ever heard. This is very special and I hope you listen to it a million times and find what I have found in it's indescribable magic...Let me know what you think! Peace.
Hey bro, how are you? Stiiilll bummed that we couldn't hang in Sydney. That was a whirlwind time. I loved the music, though. I want to send you some stuff, do you have e mail too? I'm posting a great old LTJ Bukem mix for you and it should be ready in 20 mins so I'll post a link here.
I'm gonna be a daddy in 3 weeks, man! Crazy, amazingness.

"Many people have traveled this world with different dreams, purposes and aspirations. Many are masters, teachers, inventors and followers. They were all sent by the creator of the universe to achieve one just course; “global peace and unification.” But this course cannot be achieved without unconditional love, which possesses the magical powers of the Divine for transformation. When the human race embraces love unconditional, then the lost will be found, the naked will be clothed, the hungry will be fed, the bombs will be destroyed and there will be peace and unity which will make us all to speak one language, “LOVE”. Let love abide" ~ Philip Brown
