A band that is named after a little boy would almost have to be loud and playful—and they are. But that’s just one of Searching for Timothy’s multiple identities. They’re crime solvers in “Mosaic”, they’re teddy bears in “Our Last December” and they’re journalists in “Theatre of Lies”. They’re purveyors of “space rock” straight out of the ‘burbs. Searching for Timothy’s original band members have stood the test of time in an industry where bands change members as often as they change their skinny jeans. After meeting in high school and going through a name change, the boys grew into what their music has become: epic. Lead singer and guitarist Nick Baker fronts the musical powerhouse with Craig Moore on lead guitar, Tyler Proffitt on bass, Morgan Heath on keys and Danny Ponder on drums. The band has found support in Richmond, the city they call home. They were voted Best Local Band in 2007 and in 2009 by the area’s two most prominent alternative rock stations, and they haven’t stopped there. They’ve shared the stage with 30 Seconds to Mars, Framing Hanley, Anberlin and After Midnight Project, some of the biggest names in rock today. What’s next on the list for the boys of Searching for Timothy? World domination. They’re working on next ep to be released in 2010.
