.. Guitar Skillsmostly cider and the wurzels nowadays. It all began with the likes of Shawaddywaddy moving swiftly upwards towards my discovery of the Shadows damned Apache, striding on through my youth into Madness, Greenfly? and galloping across fields of bovine like creatures such as Starship, Phil Collins, Ultravox all a lowing and shuffling in the mud and me alone in my room eyes squeezed tightly shut strumming and humming my way through Sloop John B, God only knows how I came upon the Ganga Jang but I'm sure they weren't best pleased to find me INXS of a tide of lusty dreams of Tracy Chapman's fast cars and Bryan Adams and all his sixtynining summers and where on earth did Stanley Clarke and Mark King enter flapping their bass wands around my ears as I kicked up the red dust around Men at Work and as I burnt the Midnight Oil in Winchester James rang in my ears and my Tears flow with Fears that Women in Chains would rattle forever round my head whilst a Seal made a whelping noise to Stevie Wonder, Corduroy, Brand New Heavies, Joe Satriani, the weird Vai and her beard and many more I have yet to write in......move along there..funkadelic, the littlest hobo, James Taylor, the James Taylor quartet, Randy Crawford, Tracy chapman and the Police, The Carpenters, John Carpenter, any carpenter and any carp, Sahkin Stevens (the Sikh), the Quo, crossdressing at least twice a year, Da Bleach Boys and uncle Ach, Lional Richie, ginge, Django, Gary Potter and obviously Harry, Weller, the Eagles, the beagles, flock of seagulls, the illegal eagles, the straight on Teagles, my wife, my boy, the division of joy, the world, the girls, the waves and the curls, dominc miller, the killers, bootsy collins, James Brown, Paul simon, garfunkel as well, level 42, the wonderstuff, james, jimi, jamiroquai.. and so it goes on with each setting sun how long the list grows from te young to the old, sold, souled.
Sounds Like
me(that's me not the disease although come to think of it..',:)
Haven't updated this for a year or so so here's some fresh meats. Finished the album last year but haven't printed it up yet due to life and my beautifully relentless daughters arrival, opening a cafe and generally being slack but the music's done. Thanks to Katy and Suzy at SW1 did some solo support slots with Newton Faulkner, Xavier Rudd, Kate Walsh, Ruarri Joseph and also had chance last year to play the album acouple of times in the warm temperate biome at Eden on Lily Allen night and then Pet Shop Boys night. Thanks to PT for his enthusiasm for the music and for setting it up for us next stop the main stage then Wembley then da verrrrld!!Ja wir mussen gehen mit das schwarze hund nach der alt kopf und essen eine kleine rathaus!!
Found a great keyboard player Tom Quirk who helped us play the stuff live thanks Tom. I've got to thank a few more people who have helped me produce this. Dare again who has beavered away through many a long night, tweaking his nobs and flicking his switches, Laura again for putting in such a magnificent performance on the vocals and Deep Dickie who really helped avert distaster by inserting his sticky fretless bass wand where it was much needed and adding those vocal feelings that only deep dickie can. Nick Mcleod for his brilliant drumming and Bodhran playing. My wife for letting me do this without going bonkers and for saving up my christmas and birthday presents and rolling them into this, my boy for being himself and the Baker, the Bailey the candlestick maker and SW1 for allowing me to perform some of what I record live and asking me again and hopefully again, and all the people who have listened, bought or seen me live I thankyou
"I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. It seems to infuse strength into my limbs and ideas into my brain. Life seems to go on without effort, when I am filled with music."-George Eliot.
No gigs lined up due to new cafe but still playing, not writing much, space & time limited but I'm sure it will come again.
