*** FRIENDS... Season is over. The band have called it a day. After 8 years playing together. 4 1/2 years or playing live shows around Melbourne and up the east coast. The enthusiasm just isn't there anymore. Has been this way for awhile, so instead of dragging it on, the band have decided now is the time. Members are doing other things. If you're interested, check out Bart's other band Subnormal: http://www.myspace.com/sbnrml
James is working on two new projects. One of his own music. And a new band with Guitarist Nick Pledge from Oneironaut, and Sean "Jova" Albers from The Grand Silent System/School of Emotional Engineering. More news on these as they progress.
Thanks to everyone who's shown interest in the band since day one, and cared. We've had some good times.

We'll tell you everything you need to know... and less.
WITHIN WITHOUT. The limited edition single. We've put together a dual track disc containing the first pressing of 'Within Without', as well as a remixed version of 'Give Up The Ghost' from our album AVATAR. These lads from Sydney have somehow taken the dark and brooding soul of this track, and transformed it into pure happy-happy joy-joy! ...and we're buggered if we know how they did it! A sound to behold!
There will be only 200 copies of this limited edition single, the majority of which will go out to press and radio. but we're keeping a bunch for you, the good people, 'cos we know you want it. You want it BAD!! We're holding launches in both NSW and VIC for the single, so if you're in the right place at the right time, you could very well nab yourself a very special hand-numbered copy. imagine what your friends will say!!!

What some have said about AVATAR:
"5 bones out of 5 "- www.bonemachine.net
"Season have scored a fine album deserving of your attention..." 7.5/10 Garry McKenzie - Rockus Online
"Avatar is the perfect prescription for dark nights and stark winters." - Splendid E-Zine
"There are moments of quite breathtaking pleasure here." - Sydney Morning Herald
"God Mode, the second spiritual experience for me..." - The Blurb
"...the ten-minute ‘God Mode ’ not so much travels into Mogwai territory, but briskly surpasses even their juxtaposition of sounds." - Time Off Magazine, Brisbane
"Avatar is an adventurous outing for Melbourne’s Season. Seven sprawling, sometimes epic instrumentals conjure images of an as yet unmade David Lynch classic. Imagine what they could do with a budget?" - Chris Peken/City Hub
"It’s rare that a band’s debut full-length feels this complete. The mission was obvious: to completely subdue the listener throughout the album, and as far as I’m concerned it was a stunning success. If you’re capable of wrapping your head around deep emotional instrumental landscapes, then Season’s Avatar is a must have. Albums like this restore my faith in modern music, and I truly hope that Season can continue to grow and offer outstanding music." - Lee Kilcrease / Delusions of Adequacy
Pick of the week 2/15/2005 - Delusions of Adequacy
"Nuanced and often breathtakingly beautiful, the soundscapes of both these bands deliver music to accompany solemn introspection, or a quiet waltz with your loved one" Oz Music Project - Soph on Season & Because Of Ghosts
"A number of bands are making similar music -- Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Tortoise, Do Make Say Think, and the aforementioned Mogwai and Explosions in the Sky are among Season's best-known peers. But whereas those acts' albums often sound heavily produced, Season's music is a bit rougher, which works in their favor. Perhaps that's why Avatar is one of the best albums I've heard this year" David A. Cobb - Splendid
