About Season Of Loss

All things begin and all things come to an end. Season of Loss arose from, founder and lead guitarist, Christopher Bechtel's darkest day. From the ashes of tragedy came the pathological need to express the pain and frustration that can only come from great loss. In December of 2000 the roller coaster began it's course as Bechtel and his wife Danielle learned that they'd soon be the parents of beautiful baby boy, Alexander. Little could sway the joy that the couple felt as they awaited the new addition to their small family. Nothing would prepare them for the fateful events that cold winter. The joys of his arrival were short lived as he struggled to catch his breath and just two days after his birth his cycle was complete. In the aftermath of his short life and unexpected death his parents experienced a myriad of emotions and began the stages of grief. It was under these, the saddest of circumstances that Season Of Loss was born. As a way to cope with the flood of emotions and to steady his fragile psyche he surrounded himself in the comfort and release that music had always been. Like a trusted friend, it took his hand and walked him through the days that would follow. Ultimately it allowed a release that without which healing could not begin. Determined not to take lessons learned for granted Bechtel continues to write and release and hopefully his experiences both joyful and saddened shine through.
