| About Seattle Arts Trio |
|
Seattle Arts Trio formed from a Phil Sparks-coached jazz combo at University of Washington. It has been a vehicle to showcase some of Seattle's finest musical talent covering all styles from jazz to blues and funk. Pete Schmeeckle has played in Hawaii and L.A., sings, raps, and composes. Bass players have included Bren Plummer and Luke Bergman, both former students of Phil Sparks and also Eric Hullander, student of the renowned Joe Santiago. Keyboardist Josh Alexander has toured with big bands to Puerto Rico and played at the Blue Note in Milano, won a Lionel Hampton festival with a quartet, and is a former student of Marc Seales. Powers combined, they make a versatile group that is unpredictable and exciting to watch, performing with humor, grace, virtuosity and raw energy.
