The Seattle Chapter of the Washington Restaurant Association presents SEATTLE SOUNDBITE — a first-of-its-kind food and music event featuring 15 Seattle restaurants serving sophisticated “street-style” food while talented restaurant employee rock bands perform. Special guest Billy Joe Huels of the Dusty 45s will MC the event.
Proceeds benefit The Vera Project, ProStart® and the WRA Seattle Chapter. SEATTLE SOUNDBITE will be held Sunday, March 16, 2008, at the Showbox SoDo, 1700 First Avenue S., Seattle, Wash. Doors open at 6 p.m. Must be 21 or older.
During the show, each restaurant will create an inspired and signature “street-style” food item for sale at $5.00 each. Restaurants participating are:
Café Campagne - tarragon & citrus crab salad on gougere
Coastal Kitchen - cebiche potato pods
El Gaucho - steak sliders
Lark - pork belly tartine with quince preserves, and wild mushroom tartine with fried quail egg and truffle butter
Palace Kitchen - palace tacos
Purple Cafe & Wine Bar - syrah brownies
Quinn’s - wild boar sloppy joe's
Ray's Cafe - alaskan halibut gyros with grilled onions and tzatziki
Red Door - shredded pork sliders
Serafina - handmade pizzelle with chocolate hazelnut mousse, vin santo whipped cream and fresh raspberries
Southlake Grill - coconut prawns with chile dipping sauce
Tango - queso azul
Tavolata - hot pockets
Via Tribunali - handmade pizzas
Volunteer Park Cafe - braised pork "piggies in blankets" with caramelized onions
Only Seattle rock bands with at least one member working in the foodservice industry were eligible to submit CDs for audition. The winning bands are Born Anchors (Ray’s Boathouse), Disjointed Isotopes (Serious Pie/Palace Kitchen/Le Pichet/Daniel's Broiler/Union Square Grill), Ian McFeron Band (Ray’s Catering), La Isla All Stars of Picoso (La Isla), Kate Graves (Restaurant Zoë), Sideways Reign (Olympic Mountain Ice Cream, The Robin Hood Pub) and Sunday Night Blackout (Via Tribunali).
