My Name is Seattle
I am freedom fighter from Seattle. I do my art and my work with the young cats as my little way of fighting back against the system. I know, what system? The Amerikkan, The Euorpean, no simply put the power structure, The Western power structure which has been in play since "Before Columbus landed". Some have this Idea that I am some sort of racist, because in a few of my poems I utter statements and references to or about "white" people. Let me say this first and foremost I am a "Human Being" and believes in the peacfullness of humaity, every one on this planet coming together with love at the center of heart for the advancement us (Huamans) as a people in order to sustain mother earth. Now for the White comments, I don't have anything against a group of peopole or individual, how ever when I speak of "white" I am talking about an idealism, a systematic form of oppression that I HAVE TOO AND MUST FIGHT AGAINST!!! Because that system is killing my people. (people of color but most expressively those in the USA) and Nowthis same system is trick because they now are making the color lines less obviouos and the ECONOMIC divide wider. Leaving it soon to be just the have and have nots. Thats when shit will hit the fan. I am just regular brotha trying to make a difference, if you belive in change you will do what you can aswell. Volunteer at their nearest program with something that effects the youth in some way. When we get to the young cats and get them to believe in themselves and us as a people as a community then we can will be able to rest asured in the safety of our future. Tell the elder to quit locking they doors and turning their heads. Ask them to take ownership of us, all the young hustlers. And through compassion let the young cats know that they are worth the heavens a hundred times fold, and if enough elders, did this, we get one, even if just 1. The generation gap is growing, and yet closing in at the same time, the old are pulling away from the young, and now the babies are having babies with no guidance. Television have replaced parent and teacher, Thats why the elders are important, not just the the aunties the uncles the community as a whole (village) to make the difference. So if you have the time right now, I aint talking save the world, just an hour, a moment, even if it is with the young cats in your family your hood wherever, just PLEASE GET INVOLVED.
