The Sea Urchins earn their place in many people's hearts as a band who gave us some of the most beautiful tracks to swing your fringe to in the c86 era. An era of jangly guitars and beautiful melodies, suede jackets and anoraks with hoods...
Their original voices gave a slightly more meloncholic air than some of their rather more twee contemporaries but with classic some melodies such as Please Rain Fall and Clingfilm they still pass the test of time.
With Pristine Cristine being 001 in the Sarah Records collection they will always have a place in the musical history books.
A couple of the Sea Urchins went on to become Delta and some of the slower tracks they did such as Tonight and All My Life showed glimpses the melodic beauty of the early Urchins.
Unfortunately The Sea Urchins do not exist anymore but they will live on swinging their fringes in indie heaven..
It is great to see the Sea Urchins on My Space. I remember the first gig in the 'House Area' at Stuart Bathurst R.C. High School...
