About me:

CLICK "PLAY" ON SONGS TO THE LEFT TO LISTEN TO SOME music WHILE READING.

the SEAWEED SWAY BLOG with a list of BAY AREA MUSIC, YOGA, & NATURE EVENTS is here: http://www.seaweedsway.blogspot.com

on this page, you can find updates about upcoming shows & events (to the left, in the blog section), as well as links to (and songs from) great musical people who i believe are worthy of your listening energy.

little updates:

BACKGROUND: The term "seaweed sway" refers to a dance move. It originated at the Great American Music Hall during Brightblack Morning Light's set for Noise Pop 2007. I had never seen them play, nor heard them, and went on a whim. Afterwards, at the merch table, I ran into the amazing Karl Blau, who had also played that night. He was actually the one I wanted to see, but I missed his set. Nonetheless, all was not lost, as we discussed the incredible feel and movement of the room that arose during the show. There was an energy and motion we both saw, and attempted to describe. He suggested that everyone was doing a kelp dance (he is fond of kelp, check out his website http://kelplunacy.com), and we then came to the agreement that the movement was a seaweed sway. It was a magical moment.

Now, 2 years later, Seaweed Sway is an evolving project. My primary intention with Seaweed Sway is to authentically promote bay area events, with a focus on local music shows. Yoga, dance, raw vegan food, & urban organic farming are also major topics of interest.

if you'd like to submit an event, subscribe to the weekly email list, or find out more about a posted event, send a message to seaweedsway@gmail.com

as you remember, check here for updates & maybe even let a friend know about the events, as that will keep the project moving along.
love, thanks, & seaweed.

Thanks so much for being my friend, SeaweedSway!

I am stopping by to say "hi" and to remind you that in addition to MySpace, you can visit with me on Twitter and Facebook. I also have a personal blog on StockValues.

I write mostly about farming/gardening and stock/bond investing, but also anything else that rattles my cage. Please stop by when you get a chance.

My attempts to create an Open at the Mama Buzz Cafe have failed. The
will be no open mic at the Mama Buzz cafe. The "Every Second Sunday"
open mic has been double booked for the second month in a row. It is
clear I'm not suited to be the host of an open mic. Thank you all for
your interest and support. My sincerest apologies to all musicians
poets that hoped and even planned for this open mic.

    Best of wishes to all.
