Sebastián Caldas Zeballos was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, January 23rd 1977. He started studying classical guitar at the age of nine with Inger Alebo, continued with Anselmo Grau in Uruguay and later with Claudio Garay in Sweden. In 2000 he moved to San Sebastián, Spain, to study with Eduardo Baranzano. He went then to Musikene, the Bask Countrys Music Conservatory. There he got his PGM in music in 2007 in classical guitar with maestro Marco Socías as teacher. He has also taken master classes with Ricardo Gallén, Alvaro Pierri, Eduardo Isaac, Ricardo Moyano, Franz Halasz, Jukka Savijoki and Margarita Escarpa. In 2004 he got the second prize in the International Guitar Competition Azpiuzu, in the modality of duos, together with guitarist Rodrigo Prada. Today he form together with violinst Leire Pérez the guitar-violin duo, Habana 2440. He has coaborated with thel latin-rock band Solé as guitarplayer, arranger, composer and singer. As soloist, Sebastián Caldas plays repertoire from composers as Milan, Mudarra, Sanz, Bach, Weiss, Giuliani , Sor, Aguado, Mertz, Regondi, Legnani, Scarlatti, Tárrega, Rodrigo, Villa-Lobos, Ponce ..etc.
