Daniel Kampf’s main musical influences can be found in the fields of Hip Hop, Chicago House, Detroit Techno and Minimal. His first release on DEBOX benefits from these versatile influences, combining the funkyness of a DJ Premier with the deepness of a Moodyman and the sound-aesthetical perfection of Booka Shade. “Dark Ways” is a well engineered and multifaceted minimalelectro track which will surely start a fire on the floor and charm people with its complexity and playfulness. The outstanding remix on the flip side was created by “apples&pears”, formed by London based Sebastian Voigt, Berlin based Sebastian Ploessner and Michael Burkhard who is living in Moscow. Their interpretation of “Dark Ways” is a thrilling, atmospherically reverberated track with a highly hypnotic character. Gently yet determined the adaptation sends the listener on a journey..
