Hola!! Soy Sebastián Pontigo, baterista. Nací en la ciudad de
San Antonio, Chile, el 29 de Enero de 1985.
Mi gusto por la música comenzó desde
pequeño ya que me crié en un ambiente en el cual se escuchaba y se hacía mucha
música, folklórica en su mayoría. A los 15 años comencé a tocar batería de
forma autodidacta, inspirándome en la música que en ese entonces me gustaba:
Metallica, Criminal, Death, Cannibal Corpse y otras bandas thrash/death/heavy
metal. Luego mis gustos se fueron ampliando y más que gusto por la batería como
instrumento, fue un gusto por la música el que comenzaba a desarrollar.
Al terminar el colegio decidí hacer de
la batería y la música mi profesión y por eso entré a estudiar Interpretación
en Batería en la Escuela Moderna de Música (Santiago de Chile) en donde he
tenido clases de batería con grandes maestros de la escena nacional: Juan
Coderch y Daniel Cheul. Aparte de los estudios de batería también tuve cursos
de Piano, Armonía Tradicional (Clásica) y Armonía Popular con el maestro Toly
Ramírez.
Mis influencias musicales aparte del
metal y el rock, incluyen diversos estilos como: pop, funk, jazz, fusión,
folklore latinoamericano y Drum & Bass entre otros.

Hi!! My name is Sebastian
Pontigo, Drummer. I was born in San Antonio, Chile, on January 29th
in 1985.
My interest in music started
at an early age, because I was raised in an environment surrounded by music,
mostly folk music. When I was 15 I started playing drums by myself, inspired by
bands I used to like, such as Metallica, Criminal, Death, Cannibal Corpse and
other thrash/death/heavy metal bands. Later on, in addition to my
interest in drums I also started to develop a large interest for music in general.
When I finished high school I
decided to get a career out of drums and music, so I got into Escuela Moderna
de Música (Santiago / Chile) to study Drums. I have had drum classes with great
national musicians, such as Juan Coderch and Daniel Cheul. I have also had
courses such as Piano (Jazz), Classic Harmony and Jazz/Pop Harmony with
professor Toly Ramirez.
