And maybe someone who will play slide steel, cello, banjo, ect... Any Takers?
Anybody?
Influences
I dont think the musical artists I like reflect influence(or at least not much) over my personal musical style. The real answer to what influences my music is my day to day life and trying to make sense of it. Something at which I'm failing.
As for what I like listening to(naming but a few): Saddle Creek bands, Taking Back Sunday, Straylight Run, Tom Hall, Underoath, Brand New, The Vines, The Cure, The Honorary Title, My Seasonal Reject/Dumb Blonde Dead, Emo Side Project, Coretta Scott, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Ryan Adams, Damien Rice, Simon Joyner, Lindsay Rae Spurlock, Here In Arms, The Mountain Goats...
Sounds Like
It's not meant to sound like anyone else.
The music kinda varies a bit in style, and will probably do so more as things progress.
So it turns out I have an alter-ego...
Secondary Symptom is a project with a poetic basis. While I easily fit into the singer/songwriter category, I never really write songs. I just write what wants to come out. Sometimes its a scribbly thing, sometimes you might call it a poem. Singer/song composer might be a better description.
If you'll listen maybe you'll find I have something to say.
The songs revolve around stories which might or might not be true and a darkness that some of us can relate to. It may borderline experimental if only because not all of the "rules" of music need apply.
Some of the songs currently available are rough and unfinal recordings. Although to a large extent I really like the raw, rough sound.
I'd like to play more shows, so everyone book me immediately... Tell all the venues you want to see me there. Demand to see Secondary Symptom live!!! :)
I found your CD in my room a few weeks ago and now I can't find it again. ): I hope you're doing well. I had a dream about the Mad Goat night before last and you were in it of course. (: Hit me up if you're ever in Tyler! -kirsten
