About me: secondchancebarnyard.org We are a pet safe home. Any precious angels that aren’t rehomed can live out the remainder of their life with us with dignity, respect, freedom and lots of love! We give a lifetime commiment to angels who have been abused, neglected or abandoned if they do not go to a forever home.
Our safe house is located in El Dorado Springs, MO with a satelitte office and events in Kansas City.
We rescue angles from kill shelters, word of mouth, and vet offices of angels who have been taken in to be euthanized. We also take retired breeders for rehoming but these are special need angels. We take requests for an angel and try to find it. We don't care who does the adoption, we will help anyone rescue including referring you to another group. Sometimes, this can be immediate, sometimes it takes months. PLEASE-if you are considering a purebred please give us an opportunity to find one for you so it will save a life!!!! More than 30% of the animals in local shelters and rescue groups are purebreds. They end up homeless too! For almost every breed there is a rescue dedicated to saving them. So regardless of what you are looking for, check with your local animal shelters and rescue groups. If you are going to buy: Please know the difference between a great breeder who cares and loves for their angels and a puppy mill.
All angels have their medical needs met to include any necessary surgeries, shots, spayed, neutered, etc. No angel will be placed that isn’t healthy (it may have a medical condition which would be disclosed), neutered or spayed unless it is too young to have it done. Angels that leave our home that are not age/weight appropriate for spayed or neutering will require a deposit equivalent to the procedure. The deposit will be released upon proof of spay/neutering.
When you get an angel from us it is not your typical "caged animal". Ours are frequently in a house, along on many outings and very social. They have been rehabilitated to live a happy life. They are constantly exposed to loving human contact, children, horses, wild life and they are great passengers in a car.
Please note: We do add groups/friends that we may not support their views or mission but we add them as they may have the angel you want-and you may be the one who rescues that prevents a death. All are welcome at our events and on our page; everything we do is with the goal of placing the right angel with the right person, preventing death and cruelty, and rehabilitation regardless of who made it happen.
