"SECOND CITY RECORDS was thought of and created by well known BIRMINGHAM MC/PRODUCER ...ROLAND (LOCAL SUBSTANCE) as a home for all U.K and international artists alike to showcase there musical talents across the globe!!!!Here at second city we are building a reputable label known for strong music and consistent releases appealing to all listeners across the many spectrum's of the drum n bass scene.It all began late 2006 when roland had a vision of a label that new and talented young artists could release tunes on and grow with at the same time.He also wanted to have a label that people could easily recognise for its own unique style in jump up drum n bass.So roland proceeded to put the wheels in motion and started scouting artists that were strong enough to make a big first impression. A short time passed and new talent was discovered to make his dream a reality. All that was left to do was find the right name????The name SECOND CITY RECORDS represents where roland himself grew up (IN THE U.Ks 2ND MAJOR CITY) A place where he as a young lad himself discovered JUNGLE/DRUM N BASS and experienced many fond memories of this weird and wonderful scene also a place which boasts a lot of the scenes major artists of past and present!!!!!!! .Even though second city will have a varied selection of tunes for all tastes we want to concentrate on what we love the most (JUMP UP)and as a label coming from the midlands it shouldn't be difficult. Basically we are looking for artists that have their own individual style and will be able to work alongside us as we carry on building the name of the label we are hoping other well known artists will continue to contribute with guest tracks and remixes as we embark on this journey to keep second city on the map. SO TO ALL ARTISTS (THIS MEANS YOU)if your confident enough in a track that you have made and feel that it would appeal to us here at second city do not waste any time in contacting us 'it can be any style of drum n bass just as long as its original and you have made it yourself. We've also had the man like (DJ PICTO)SCR003 RAVIN RUDEBOY/FRIENDLY ST these two huge tracks have stirred quite an interest in this artist and he is quickly becoming recognised as a new skool player. Next in our schedule we bring you new American talent (HEAVY HITTAHZ)SCR004 IN DA HOOD/BLACK SNAKE this duo hailing outta L.A are ready to bring you tunes which you will find yourself humming on the way to work Monday morning LOL . We have just recently signed a track from estonian based outfit (MUTATED FORMS) and are very excited at the prospect of this release as second city have been huge fans of there work and the track we have is a "SMASHER". Dont forget our very own mad scientist (KULPRIT) who has two groundshaking tracks in the form of DROP THAT and PHATT & HAIRY these tracks even though still unreleased have been getting played and supported by the likes of dj's such as RUFFSTUFF,MICKY FINN ,NICKY BLKMKT , TAXMAN just to name a few. Then just as you thought the schedule couldn't get any hotter we welcome DJ CALLIDE who has had a string of successful releases on his own label system shock ,amongst numerous others so you already know going by this guys past history you can look forward to an absolutely huge drum & bass anthem we tell no lie when we say the material he has contributed is possibly his best to date. Also coming up as promised we have some huge remixes from some of the scenes biggest producers well known artists like ZEN ,MODIFIED MOTION ,DJ PLEASURE ,ORIGINAL SIN, MAJISTRATE and an inland revenue special from the one and only TAXMAN .So as you can gather its all going on for 2008 in the SECOND CITY camp and we PROMISE TO CONTINUE BRINGING YOU A FULL AND VARIED RELEASE SCHEDULE FOR 2008 AND BEYOND WE ALSO WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM ALL DRUM N BASS HEADS IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS OR IDEAS RELATED TO THE LABEL OR ARTISTS MENSIONED .................THANKS FOR ALL YOUR LOVE AND SUPPORT AND WE HOPE TO HEAR FROM U SOON.......................................
