Sounds Like
Fishstick and Ed Young once told me I sound like Lou Reed singing Bob Dylan songs...Okay I'll take that otherwise I guess I just sound like me!
"Joshua Larson is a co-founder of Acoustic Philly, along with Mike Delvecchia, and a no-bones-about-it old-school folk singer with a modernist flair for lyrical lines that recall both Bob Dylan and Ryan Adams, Townes Van Zandt and Wilco. He transcends generations of influences to create his own unique style of down and out, raw, and righteous music." When joined by Dave Bernroth (guitar), Bob Bachman (bass), Brad Rothman (drums), and sometimes Dan Collins (banjo) he heads the Secondhand Musicians" .........................................................................................................................
Brendan O’Brien says: "Josh Larson: you legend!"
"Your songs are beautiful and your attitude about trying to write things apart from your heartstrings is something I think that challenges many musicians and writers, myself especially included in that subset. Ideas aren’t all that easy to come by, but when you (or me) do manage to find some we should make a huge effort to get them down on paper or recorded somewhere so as not to lose them."

Josh says" When talkin about my music I like to quote Billy Bob Thorton. " I don’t give a F**k what Britney Spears thinks of my F**kin records. Or some F**k head at a record company. If there’s ten people in a room and one gets my music, it’s worth it." I always say that if I can sell one album to someone I dont know and they recommend it to someone else I don’t know then I’ve made it"

Diggin' the tunes... yet again, Mr. Larson. Hope to catch you around down one of these roads, one of these days. Drop me a line. I hope all is well and good. Amber
Larsenio! I am heading to Philly end of January for an NSA conference. I may hang out with you for a few days if you'll have me after my conference wraps and before departing again for Japan. Maybe we could just get stupid drunk some night? Let's chat about it. I have another friend that owns a bar in Philly metro somewhere too.
Thank you guys so much for coming out to Robin's - so good to see your faces, and I really appreciate the support! Gotta hang soon for a holiday jam sesh!
