| About Second Hand Wings |
|
Second Hand Wings is a three piece Bolton band, fronted by the three ladies you see on this page. We play subtle acoustic pop songs with fun harmonies that lie on top of down to Earth lyrics that mean so much.
We formed in August 2007 after Heather, Gab, Gabby and Matthew of Out of the Gray decided to part ways with guitarist Paul. It was a tough decision for the four of us to make and it was a shame the Out of the Gray adventure had to end as there was so much achieved, namely, the gigs with Ben Harper, Nigel Clarke (Dodgy), Mark Morris (Bluetones) and all the other fantastic artists that we were lucky enough to play with. However, we felt that we could not take the success any further for various reasons.
This though is the start of the Second Hand Wings adventure. We love playing gigs anywhere, anytime and love writing new material we also, love our supporters, people who show an interest and comment.
The name stems from one of Gabby's ideas so it probably means that its got connections with Greek Mythology or something because she loves that sort of stuff. She did actually mention what it means but the rest of the band switched off by this time. No honestly we feel it says something about our second life/reincarnation of the band we find it fitting and hopefully no-one will see us as a Paul McCartney spin-off band.
