| About Second Phase |
|
Who would have thought that two mechanical engineers from two totally different backgrounds would decide to come to a wee bit room and create music? It all started in a Precalculus class in Southern Methodist University in late 2003. Chris and Shaurav, both studying mechanical engineering, grew together as they had continually had classes together. They found a common ground...music. They decided to jam out during their freshman year with some friends. They both enjoyed what they heard and made sure that in the future they would continue to grow as a band. In 2004, Chris and Shaurav created music at Chris's abode recording through computer speakers and video cameras. It was at this time the song, "Hold My Hand", began to take form. As the 2004-2005 school year approached, classes became harder, however, Chris and Shaurav attempted to collaborate as a band as best as they could. Some other songs were soon shelled out with some riffs and lyrics created by the crew. It was also during this year that the name Second Phase was born. Originated from a delirious night of studying, they integrated the concepts of engineering into music. It was not until the 2005-2006 school year that the band was beginning to shine. Impressed by Shaurav's vocals, various people asked to for us to play. It led to small gigs throughout the SMU campus. At this time, the performing began with two guitars. For the 2006-2007 school year, the drums finally appeared. The band was exhausted with the two acoustic guitars and wanted to ROCK! As for now, they have performed twice and currently have a gig lined up for the beginning of 2007! Get ready for some crunching riffs mixed with melodic vocals! This is SECOND PHASE!
