| About El Chupacabras |
|
Formed in 1999 at the back of a classroom, the idea for this band was a simple one. Be different, be devastating. Surrounded by indie fans, hip-hop pretenders and people who wouldn't know good music if it farted in their tofu, our united view was a shocking one from the get go. After a couple of line-up changes, the unit was solidified when an ad in a guitar store found Mark, an extremo and virtuoso in equal measure. The years since then have been spent gigging and recording, expanding and exploring our sound. The bare essence of rock 'n' roll is what drives our music, but it is our combined love of everything from techno to blues to prog to metal and drone that steers it. The sound is the rootsy, smoky blues of New Orleans, and the epic and brutal beauty of our Northern European homeland. Stoned, drunk and on fire. It's the only thing we know and love for sure. The jobs, the studying'. Illusion. Our hearts belong in this music, this music we trust.
