One night in early 2002, Holly Morgan and Lisa Harbin decided that they wanted to start a band, in spite of never having attempted any kind of musical endeavor before. The two teamed up with Vestal Vermin guitarists Kate Tallent (on guitar) and Colleen Pelser (on bass) to form Secret Crush Society, with Morgan behind the drums and Harbin on vocals. The new band wrote four songs and played their first show, a street festival in Baltimore.
Later that year, Tallent and Pelser left the band to concentrate on Vestal Vermin, and the remaining members of the band found two new recruits to fill out the lineup: Joseph Grey on guitar and Tanya Taylor on bass. This new lineup spent the next three years playing their signature high-energy shows all over the East Coast in support of "Baltimore Chapter", their critically acclaimed CD on Atomic Twang! records.
In 2006, Taylor left the band and Colleen Pelser (now guitarist and vocalist for The Sprouts) returned to Secret Crush Society, and the band, once a hodge-podge of different styles, has combined its raw punk sound and pop sensibilities into powerful yet catchy new material.
In February 2008, guitarist Joseph Grey moved to New York City but is still a member of Secret Crush Society, who are now based in both Baltimore and New York. The band will be releasing their next album (tentatively titled "Into The Dolphin") in Spring 2008.

I just got word today that I will be returning to film Rollercon this year independently and exclusively, in direct cooperation with Rollercon and the WFTDA.
For those of you that don't know me, I am the official videographer for the Charm City Rollergirls, and I was part of last year's film crew shooting for Rollercon Films. I ended up editing the last 2 films as well, Rollercon-The Movie and the Team Rad v. Team Awesome Bouts. (I am not in charge of the Rollercon Films pay per view download website or distribution, please email any inquiries about DVDs from last year to capella@defining.com)
Due to the last minute arrangements and lack of funding I have no crew other than myself and Jenn. I am looking for volunteers to help shoot the Fremont Street bouts, I will be bringing a few handycams along with the 2 pro cameras Jenn and I use now, but if anyone has a nice 3CCD chip camera and can help us that would be even more super amazingly awesome! I will possibly have 1 nice camera available as well, but it is not mine and can only entrust it to an experienced operator.
The bouts are 20 minutes long, and I just need someone preferably with knowledge of the game to follow the action for the duration of the bout without starting and stopping the tape. It doesn't matter if you have a great shot the whole time, that's why I need as many cameras as possible there to cover the action close up.
I have no budget, but you will get credit for shooting, and if you help out for multiple bouts I'll buy you a big fruity drink and rub your feet. (Nonsexual)
