| About Secret Powers |

Our group is called Secret Powers. We are a group of musicians utilizing laptop, drum kit, clarinet, midi controllers, bass guitar, beat machines, marimba, melodica, organ and keyboard. We hold band practices. We've been told our music "works" for fans of The Books, Starfucker, Chrome Wings, Prefuse 73, Matmos, etc. When conversing about our music as a band, we tend to put on the record "Red Red Wine" by UB40. We find this deep reggae music to be a meditative way to generate discourse about our own music. Members of Secret Powers perform in other groups in the Portland area such as: Dick Hearse, Mega*Church, & Love Menu. Our favorite place to play is in a geodesic dome and we sometimes build domes to play inside of. We like it when our audience comes into the dome with us. These are special occasions.
