Sounds Like
live shows with a lot of acoustic guitars that go "chugga-chugga-beeern-neer-neerow"
vocals that vary in pitch and like to go "la-dee-da-fucking-words-that-rhyme"
recorded beats that go "bum-da-do-bah-chick-a-poo-tah" and sometimes "doot-pssh-pssh-doot-bah-pssh"
And so it's been written time and time again, in every language and every style, about how we live among ugliness, how the times are always full of suffering and sickness, how we coexist with the greedy, the sad, the meek, the suffering, the dominant, the tyrranical, the criminal, the diseased, the plagued, the heathens, the addicts, the thiefs, the powerful, the violent, the suicidal... and not once has it changed. the inevitable truth is that time will never change anything, only bring it closer to an end. at some point in time, you will all die. meanwhile, we're Secretly Plotting Your Burial.
Thanks for showing interest in our project. Secretly Plotting Your Burial is the brain child of Jake Karns and John Black both of the Oil City area in Northwestern PA. After several years of playing with a full band, John and I continued to write music on the side. As time passed, and our song bank became larger, we began playing acoustic sets just for the sake of playing out. Eventually, we decided that our acoustic set sounded pretty good and decided to make it into a full time project. Our music is a little different from traditional acoustic projects. We try to bring out emotion and aggression in our songwriting and we try to create an acoustic sound that still keeps an edge. The content of our music is often considered dark and somewhat vulgar. We believe that our music is real. We believe that although it may not be everyone's cup of tea, and although we aren't the most talented musicians, our music will still speak to people on some level. Because it's honest, and honesty is important, no matter how brutal it can be.
We encourage you to download our 4-song EP entitled The Devil Asked Me Nicely for free at garageband.com. You can click the links throughout this message, or if they give you trouble, just go to any of the sites mentioned and search for Secretly Plotting Your Burial. Also, feel free to add us to your MySpace friends if you have an account. You can also find us on PureVolume, IAC Independent Artists Company and Last.fm. And if you're really curious as to where all the aggression comes from, you're more than welcome to check out my personal myspace page and read my blog (at your own risk). Finally, we are certainly looking for any help that anyone can offer us to help promote our music. If you have any resources or connections you would like to share with us, please don't hesitate to do so. Send us a message on myspace or garageband or e-mail me at jakekarns@hotmail.com. Thanks for listening.

so your music is pretty much amazing! me and smash were listening to kid chameleon the other day it gave us mad goosebumps. keep your shit up. its great.
While helping cleaning up the carnage after your awesome set Friday evening, I happened upon your set list (crudely scrawled on the back of a Wal-mart sales receipt), which I saved so you both can sign for me at the next possible opportunity. Tough luck with that G-string Johnny B...but good set anyway. Thanks.
the new album sounds great. i liked the unmastered version of sweet little white thing better than the final mix, but overall you guys sound amazing. seriously, thank you for renewing my faith in local music.
don't let the lack of listens fool you, you two are leaps and bounds ahead of the cookie cutter garbage being released under the moniker of "music" in our local market. the area may not be ready to accept *gasp* songwriters just yet, unless you tune down, get bigger belt buckles and snarl about wearing your sisters pants.
guys, the new tunes are EXCELLENT! i love sweet little white thing, and dance monster dance. i'm completely captivated by your sound. how can i get a copy of the new album??
I was cleaning my car the other day and listening to my Ipod on shuffle....the devil asked me nicely came on and i was excited lol, i turned it up so everyone in the neighborhood could hear..i think they love me now. Miss you, ♥Lindsay
