Fronted by former Ape House singer J. Forté and featuring the stellar Lejeune rhythm section of Ody Leonard (bass) and Greg Gendron (drums), the Secret Pop Band (SPB) stands out in a crowded DC music scene by focusing on melody, hooks and the art of the three-minute pop tune.
Initially formed in the Fall of 2006 to promote J.’s debut solo record, Secret Pop, the SPB has evolved into a fully-realized, high-energy power-pop trio. The band is currently recording a full-length LP for a Fall 2008 release that will address Forté's main interests - music, mortality, space and romance.
