About 2000 years ago the Hmong were a united race in China, living beside the Yellow River. Today they are scattered by war and torn by politics and culture. Secret Wars is a documentary about the Hmong Special Guerilla Units in Laos during the time of the Vietnam Conflict and what became of them after our retreat from South East Asia.
These skilled fighters were recruited and trained by the CIA for the purpose of fighting the North Vietnamese Regular Army, which had taken control of Laos around the Ho Chi Minh Trail. Throughout a 15 year war the Hmong proved themselves to be, "...our most loyal allies - Brig Gen Sal Villano"
Today Laos is much different, but our Hmong allies are still fighting the war the supposedly ended 30+years ago. The Hmong "Chou Fa" or "Freedom Fighters" struggle to exist day to day. The live in the jungles of Laos, hiding from the Communists who still hunt them down.
The first cut of the film is complete, look for it at a theater near you... SOON! Screen Shots(more in my PICS)

I am currently working on a documentary for our Hmong LGBTQIA community to
help spread awareness and to build support to form a stronger unity.
I'm looking for anyone who's willing to contribute or participate on sharing
stories and experiences. If you're interested, please contact me. :)

Thank you very much!

I encourage your support of AB 2064, which would require the State Board of Education and the Curriculum Development and Supplemental Materials Commission to adopt textbooks and instructional materials to include instruction on the Vietnam War specifically the Secret War in Laos, the role of Southeast Asians in that war, and the refugee/immigrant/new American experience as a result of the war.

Photobucket

Throughout the United States involvement in the Vietnam War, Southeast Asians were courageous allies in the struggle against the spread of communism. Their stories of heroism, sacrifices, and struggles need to be told as a part of the American history especially to our youth. By supporting Assembly Bill AB 2064, we are ensuring that the Southeast Asian stories and their legacies will be remembered beyond the generations that participated in the Vietnam War.

We need at least 1000 signatures. So please, pass it on...

I love what you do! You're letting others know what is still happening in Laos and making all of us aware of the brutal situation. Also, the pictures and the documentary are very effective in motivating people to take action.
