About me: Does your school have countless religious groups? We can help offer an alternative.
The Secular Student Alliance (SSA) is an educational non-profit whose purpose is to help freethinking students establish and run secular campus groups.
We advocate the separation of government and religion, critical inquiry, rational thought, and human based ethics.
The SSA is an umbrella organization offering secular students a variety of resources, including but not limited to an impressive speakers bureau, leadership training, discounted literature, as well as conference tickets, and thought provoking online articles and opinions.
The Secular Student Alliance welcomes students and supports diverse views and opinions so long as those views respect humanity and the world around us and well as seek to keep religious ideology out of the political realm.
Currently we have over 70 affiliate groups on campuses around the world!
Who I'd like to meet: Pictures from the recent Harvard Humanist Chaplaincy/Secular Student Alliance conference at Harvard! 280 of the 530 people registered for the conference were secular students!
I'm not an atheist but I agree that religion needs to be keep out of our political and judicial system.
Do you have to be an atheist to join? I don't believe in religion or the accuracy of modern science; so I 'm not sure where I fall. I would only become an atheist for the funny T-shirts.

Time to show your support for a charitable cause. This is a very important cause to me since my neice is one of too many young children today suffering from autism. You can help and you can also help to show that atheists care about people and the world. You can donate or take part in this great charity. I hope to have t-shirts available soon in support of this cause. Anyone who has any ideas or is willing to help, please send me a message. Thanx,
-Staks

There was a young fisher named Fischer
Who fished for a fish in a fissure.
The fish with a grin,
Pulled the fisherman in
Now they're fishing the fissure for Fischer.
As we see throughout the book “there is a deeper spirit that exists in nature and connects us all. The way to tap into it is with service work,” describes Pamela Cuce from Boca Raton, FL “By positively helping others, we are constantly positively constructing ourselves.”
In science it often happens that scientists say, "You know that's a really good argument; my position is mistaken," and then they would actually change their minds and you never hear that old view from them again. They really do it. It doesn't happen as often as it should, because scientists are human and change is sometimes painful. But it happens every day. I cannot recall the last time someting like that happened in politics or religion.

HUMANISTS AND ATHEISTS, HELP IMPROVE OUR PUBLIC IMAGE
March 17th marks the 4th anniversary of the Iraq War, and it would be nice to see some atheist and humanist groups join in the march for peace, with banners and signs identifying them as such, conveying a message of peace.
Currently it is said by some, that we are considered to be one of the most mistrusted groups of people in America. We have a very poor public image and it is time for that to change. We need to be active and visible doing positive things.
I urge all of you to participate in this event. I think this is a great opportunity for us to be visible, while standing up for what we believe in. I plan on participating, and I've already made my sign, "Humanists and Atheists for Peace. I plan to march with my sign held high. If you would like to participate, please contact me to let me know of your plans.
I have talked to some members of the University of New Mexico Humanist Society and they have agreed to participate. We will be gathering this week to make our signs. Suggestions for slogans are welcome and appreciated.
