In the year 2002 four boys who grew up as friends in the Rotterdam area (Netherlands) formed Secure. Since then they have built a solid reputation for themselves and they have become an acknowledged talented R&B singing group. Their crystal-clear harmonies and explosive performances won them the hearts and respect of many. The group writes and produces its own material, inspired by contemporary American R&B/Soul groups like Boys II Men, The Temptations, Jodeci and Jagged Edge. Secure blends these influences into a unique sound with worldwide potential. Their lyrics come from personal experiences. They sing from the heart!
Secure has built a solid live reputation. Following to the release of their hit single ‘In tha club’ in 2006, the boys frequented countless Dutch and German clubs on a successful promotion tour. They were honoured to support a tour through Germany of their American idols 112. In addition they successfully performed in front of large audiences, supporting numerous American R&B acts like Missy Elliot, Bobby Valentino, Jagged Edge, Dru Hill, Mario Winans, Ne-Yo, Montell Jordan, Jay Sean and Black Buddafly.
In 2002, just after its formation, Secure won the audience vote at De Grote Prijs van Nederland (preliminary regional round) competing in the R&B/rap genre. They also won the Dutch R&B song festival and several international talent competitions. At the Championship of Performing Arts Secure was selected to represent The Netherlands in a strong international field.
The release of the group’s first single ‘In tha club’ in 2006 was accompanied by a stunning music video that gained them a large national audience. Much due to popular demand the video was frequently shown on national music video channels, reaching the airplay top 10.
In 2007 Secure contributed vocally to the national fundraiser Duku voor Suriname, an initiative of nationally acclaimed (Surinam) artists. During that time the group signed a sponsorship with Dr Pepper, which resulted in having their image printed on 1.5 million soda cans!
In the spring of 2008 Secure started writing and recording new material for its forthcoming debut album titled ‘Identity’ that is due for release October 1st 2009.
‘Identity’ will be a well balanced and mature sounding album that contains only high-quality R&B and soul tracks. The first single to be extracted, will be the commercially potential R&B track ‘Let me be’ that will be accompanied by an internationally appealing video. To promote the new single and album the group is producing a brand-new live show that will hit the road around May 1st.
The fans’ demand for more after the successful ‘In tha club’ will finally be rewarded.
