| About Sed |
Sed was founded by Jean-Paul Grobben (JP) in early 2007, around Januari/February. Debuting with "This Moment" JP drew the attention of his friend Serge Dusault, aka Search. Shortly after that "Mind of Men" was produced, and Serge decided to join in and make an edit of the track. The edit would function as a beacon to the duo as the start of their new musical project.
After a few months of silence the third track from Sed was brought on the net under the name "1943’s Philadelphia Project". The title refers to the Philadelphia Experiment which was done back in 1943 on the USS Eldrigde navy vessel. For this track a sample was taken from an interviewer interviewing Al Bielek, a person saying that he was there when the experiments happened. The sample gave Serge and Jean-Paul the necessary inspiration to create their third track.
In November 2007 Sed was asked to create a soundtrack for a certain movie which would be screened at the International FilmFestival Rotterdam 2008. The film is called ’En Gij, Kameraad?’, simply translated as ’And You, Comrade?’. The story of the movie is about the employees of the port of Rotterdam in 1928 (the film originates from this year), fighting for a better life. On the 31st of January 2008 Sed performed live during the screening of the film, creating a dynamic soundtrack consisting of a great variety of musicstyles such as breakbeat and ambient combined with acoustic piano and accordeon.
Contrast is power, that’s the main thought of Sed when they started working on their first official project and first live act.
The performance itself was a great succes, enthusiastic reactions as a result.
Currently Jean-Paul and Serge are focussing on creating an album and hoping to get it finished around summer 2008. Meanwhile they’re keeping in mind to perform live in the same year.

Music from Sed can be best described as dark, hard, distorted beats from downtempo to drum&bass combined with great orchestral melodies.
