Taking influence from bands such as Kyuss, Soundgarden, Helmet, and Tool, Sedulus play their own brand of dynamic heavy music, with dense riff-based grooves and sprawling swirling musical interludes.
The Sedulus machine has evolved into a grooving beast, with live shows that never fail to impress.
As always, the band is writing, rehearsing and gigging hard. They have played some great venues such as the Camden Barfly and the Meanfiddler (LA2).
The band pride themselves on their dedication, friendship and hardwork. With this ethic and an explosive live show, the band aim to establish themselves as an act to remember both on record and live. Coming to a venue near you very soon!
Press:
"First up tonight was London based stoner doomsters Sedulus. Opener Dogfight clearly set out the band's stall, carrying Sabbath heavy riffs which crashed down into a tripped out low end groove. Frontman Will Wichanski's vocal was perfectly suited to ride on top of those gargantuan riffs, falling somewhere between the shoutier nature of Helmet's Page Hamilton and the (slightly) more melodic Ben Ward of Orange Goblin.
Guitarist Richard Williams and Amit Patel looked half stoned, but more likely absorbed as their heads lulled around during a new song, which Wichanski couldn't remember the name of. Actually on asking him his title afterwards he told us we could call it what we like and Johan opted for Pink Elephant."
Rockers Digest (Storm, Leicester Square, 4th September 2008)
"A rare Monday night KBY finds Sedulus putting on an impressive performance, laying down some weighty stoner grooves that defy you to not nod your head in appreciation. The riffs are immense, the vocals powerful, and a few moments of spaced-out introspection only add to their appeal."
Mike Kemp - Rock Sound Jan 2007 (Camden Barfly, 13th November 2006)
"Headlining tonite, the Mighty Sedulus storm into action with their fat metal sound. The singers bass positively growls and thunders, and is the corner stone of the bands sound. Guitars provide a thick wall of chord work and riffs. Drums batter away but provide plenty of swishing swirling symbols. There's a gutsy, geared down groove to the songs, and this is one big down tuned assault of a set. The band can be thunderously heavy, and there are some nice thick guitar solos, while songs can take on a dark, menacing quality when the guys really mash things down. A brilliant bulldozer of a band."

To download a free PDF copy from Rapidshare either follow this link or click on the image below . . .
This is quite a large file (the PDF is print quality, so if you wanted to print out a copy rather than stare at a computer screen you can. The 'zine will print at 300dpi and pages are sized at A5) so it may take a few minutes to download.
We are already working on the next issue (due out in January) and are always looking for contributors. If you would like to contribute to TBB or think that there is something we should know about please get in touch with us either here or, better still, visit our forum, sign up and get involved there. TBB is not just about music, we want to hear about anything underground, alternative or left of center.
As you may or may not be aware SoundARC hold a charity gig every year at Club 85 in Hitchin in aid of the Garden House Hospice in Letchworth, and this year we are going to try something a little different from previous years.
This year we are going to take over the club and host 37 acts in one weekend putting full bands upstairs and acoustic acts downstairs in an event that we are calling ARCfest!
It all starts on Friday 4th December at 7pm and then continues on through Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th from 12pm-11pm
As well as raising money for the Garden House Hospice in Letchworth, ARCfest will showcase all the different genres of bands that we at SoundARC have come across over the last 4 and a half years. Over this weekend a lot of the acts that you will see don’t get a chance to play a great local venue like Club 85, So as well as hearing new music you will see all manors of genres and styles from acoustic - Metal - Indie - Rock - Punk - Electro - Ska - Funk - Hip Hop/Rap - Alternative - Rhythm & Blues - Reggae - Grunge and loads more that I cant remember!
Doom will never die, DOOMRAISER too! As one door closes, another opens. Valerio has decided to leave the band; he wants to concentrate more on his other projects. We all wish Valerio the best of luck with his new vocation. He was, and remains, a formidable guitarist and was an integral part of DOOMRAISER.
However, it is with great pleasure that DOOMRAISER announce that Valerio’s replacement is to be none other than our good friend and brother, the fearsomely talented musician Willer. He played bass with evil blacksters Grimness and he’s involved in Black Land, an awesome and obscure heavy psychedelic band from Rome. Practices have been going very well, and Willer is already adding a new, acid and exciting dimension to the band as a whole. His first gig will be at Sinister Noise Club in Rome on the 21th November: a special and drunken night celebrating the birthday of one of the most important Italian underground rock scene club!
We are finally getting the first issue of our 'zine sorted and have setup a forum to go with it's impending release in December.
Both the 'zine and the forum are for more than just music (although that is a big part of what we're about), we will be covering art, film, books, in fact pretty much anything and everything that is underground or alternative.
Have a look at the forum, sign up, start promoting your projects, band, writing, etc and join in the discussions.
To make life easier Thee Big Black now have a Facebook page. Follow the link and add our page to get regular updates about shows, club nights and maybe even a 'zine . . . .
Just a reminder that we have these events coming up . . .
