Seeded Skies is a three-piece instrumental rock band from Santa Rosa, CA. Their line up consists of guitar, bass, and drums. They formed in the fall of 2002 for what were initially loose jam sessions. Even before the band existed, Andrew (guitar) and Mikey (bass) had a strong musical interaction through the lending of CDs, including Mogwai, Slint, etc. Soon, songs started developing and in June 2003, the group recorded a self-titled six song EP which was distributed at shows and among friends. People caught on, and though they played live somewhat occasionally, folks started coming out to the shows to hear the walls of sound. In the summer of 2004 Seeded Skies had enough material to record a full length album, "Clockwise" at the same place they had recorded their EP (Grizzly Studios in Petaluma), a process which took many weeks but was in the end well worth it. Even though the guitarist currently lives in Santa Cruz, this does not mean that there will be an end to the blossoming music language that is Seeded Skies.
