ABOUT SEEDLOVE
We love being a part of Kansas City music! Seedlove is proud to contribute to a growing network of conscious midwest artists.
We embody electric, powerful live shows full of soulfully inspired poetry interwoven through sweet "humm along" jazz riffs and humid roots rhythms. Music that is surely danced and enjoyed by all listeners!
With gratitude, we pay tribute to all positivity and potential that you, just by visiting this profile, are a part of and should be proud to be. We hope in the next year to make many impossibilities possible and ignite the fire, spirit, and works of music in every place we visit.
Its time for creation to become the bread of the masses and our goal is to bring a heaping basket to you to feast upon!
Thank you for helping us reach the highest heights and please enjoy the songs we've provided here!
Over the course of 2007/2008 we've put together a set of ten tracks that we thought embodied the spirit of the conscious movement and reflected the thought provoking, call-to-arms sentiments of reggae days gone by. Please take a moment to listen to the 2 new sample tracks from this project we've dubbed Grow People! Enjoy and all of your feedback is welcome!
Seedlove's History
In late 2006 Richard Faught put an ad on a local bulletin board for musicians interested in roots reggae. In response to this ad he met a horde of musicians that eventually became two bands. The first, Jahration featured Richard Faught, Rick Cole, KC MC Voodoo, KC MC Masrud, Kian Byrne, and Rimshot. The band is still playing shows and has been through several changeups since. (For Jahration's current tour schedule please visit their myspace page here.) The second band was called Nu Riddim and was a quasi tribute to KC Reggae Legends and Grammy Nominees The Blue Riddim Band. (For more info about The Blue Riddim Band please visit their MySpace page here.) Nu Riddim was composed of Richard Faught, Kian Byrne, Joey, Rico, and Sean Berger. The band toured and played a few high profile reggae shows here in KC and the surrounding area including a tribute show to the late great Scotty "Riddim" Korchak of Blue Riddim at Crossroads KC. Nu Riddim later went through some changes, losing Richard Faught and gaining a few members from other KC bands. Nu Riddim has since disbanded however its members are still in support of Midwest Reggae.
While the KC reggae was undergoing its rebirth, singer/composer Damon Bailey had reached the end of three successful years in a rock/jam cover band called Eskimo Crack Shack. Richard Faught and Damon Bailey had been been exchanging songs and music since the two attended school together in a suburb of Kansas City. Richard would end up being the last of 6 bass players to join Eskimo CrackShack. The band played over 500 shows in 3 years and developed a large following throwing two KC area music fests.
Richard started hipping Damon to all kinds of reggae both regional and international, turning him on to bands such as Groundation, Jah Roots, John Brown's Body, 10 ft. Ganja Plant, and SOJA. Ready with an archive of songs, Damon tried to convince Richard to audition him for Nu Riddim however the band had a busy schedule and was doing fine on its own. Damon knew that it was going to take a great idea to attract great musicians such as these. Thus, Damon, during a meditation, had a vision for a new project. Part humanitarian, part music, all love. The vision was inspired by the idea of self love. That in order to transmit love, one must first cultivate their own potential to love. The project would be named SeedLove. It didn't take long to convince Richard of the potential the vision held. The two soon started working on a list of songs, shaping them to this powerful music both had come to know as Reggae. Then Nu Riddim Bass Player, Kian Byrne, would join the band on drums soon after and SeedLove was on the scene playing pickup gigs wherever possible for usually no money.
In late 2007 the three decided to make a record and through this process added Jeff Pritchett of local experimental hard rock act, Myopic Mecca on Rich's Roland Juno-D keyboard. As the band's sound expanded, they focused more on adding the nuances of other instrumentalists. Meanwhile the band lost Kian Byrne to his own Nu Riddim AllStars project and Jeff Pritchett moved from Keys to drums (his native instrument).
The band co-headlined The Gaea Retreat Festival (Lost Family Productions) in 2008.
Feeling that their first album needed just a little more ornamentation, Rich and Damon recruited JahRation guitarist Rick "Pretty Ricky" Cole to solo on the track Babylon Falling which proved to be a great move as well since Rick is still a strong member of the band.
SeedLove released Grow People in September of 2008 to a packed crowd at fave venue, Californos, in Westport KC.
SeedLove finished its first major midwest tour which included a spot at the internationally known Wild Hare of Chicago in March of 2009.
SeedLove continues to tour and is playing many new songs including Sweat, Erica, Paw Ska, Harvest, and more which will be released on the next album due out sometime in 2010.

HELLO WORLD/FRIEND! HAPPY SEPTEMBER! In America, as well as worldwide, it is obvious our National Media WILL NOT report on ALL the news we need to make informed decisions. The slogan "All the News that's Fit to Print" actually is meant to read 'all the news WE decide we want to print'. The MEDIA has earned our distrust & disgust. Like it or not, the Internet has now become our source for information. Not the news that's fit to print, but EVERYTHING. 'We the People' can discern in our own minds what the Truth is or is not, by seeing, reading & verifying ALL the available data. The Media has only itself to blame for this. In America, TeleJournalistas like Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck, Lou Dobbs (sorry Glenn & Lou), Greta, Rachel, Larry, et al (in fact virtually every one of them) have poisoned the industry by spinning the news to fit their own personal agendas, instead of covering all the facts & evidence. The local news reporters are mere puppets mouthing only what they are told to say. Yes, they do give us some of the picture, but PURPOSELY do not report it all. 9/11 is a perfect example of this. The most insidious crime in our nations history, and THEY REMAIN SILENT ABOUT IT. Also, "President" Obama's credentials are SUSPECT, and they refuse to investigate/report. For this the National Media must be held accountable in the Trials to come. There is a Revolution afoot in America today, a Positive & Peaceful Revolution, and We the People, the Rightful Masters of our own Destiny, will not be fooled any longer. Fool Me Once, Shame on You, Fool Me Twice, Shame on Me. Please Join The World Truth Tour and Help Share the TRUTH!
