Biography:
Seed of Rock originated in the mind of Matthias Nuyens. Having already been introduced to the music scene by playing in other bands, Matthias had a taste for more. He wanted to explore his own talents and pursue his own goals.
The first step was trying to find candidates to fill in the line-up of the band. After a few try-outs and shuffling, four people remained: Matthias took on the role of singer and guitarist, Andy Elsen played the drums, Annelise Van Der Wildt picked up the bass and Frederik Clissen filled in the spot for second guitar.
The band had a bit of a rough start around January 2008. Around the beginning of May, one member decided to quit the band. Andy left, and we were left with a crucial gap in our line-up.
It was not until the end of that month that we found what we were looking for: A man brimming with experience and a lust for great music, Peter Wens. He took up the drums and with his help we could finally finish our first songs.
Our ambitions and motivation soared once again. Rehearsals were held weekly, and with each passing session we could feel our music and our talents grow. We became confident enough to start looking for opportunities to perform live, and they were found! Our very first appearance on stage happened November 28th 2008!
Through every experience we have had together, we have grown. We have learned to stay open-minded and to share ideas, resulting in a wide range of styles that can be found in our music. With each new song we create, we try to surpass our limits as musicians without making the music unnecessarily complicated. We strongly believe that our new songs can surpass what we already have, and that we will continue to grow towards the future…
