we love every kind of music pretty much but here are some artists that really influence our playing...
Nickle Creek, David Grisman, Sam Bush, Stephan Grapelli, Bill Monroe, Brian Wicklund, Bob Dylan, Old Crow Medicine Show, Bearfoot, Mary Schallert, Nat King Cole, Jerry Garcia, Ella Fitzgerald, South Austin Jug Band, Matt Costa, The Beatles, Tony Rice, Chris Thlie, The Grateful Dead, Mark O'Connor, Johnny Cash, Fats Waller, Django Reinhart, Darrell Scott, Tim O'Brien, Edgar Meyer....and many many more...
Seekbob began before we really had a choice about things. At five years old, you don't really decided to start a band. Luckily, Mary Schallert decided that for us. She formed a little group of little children who got together every week to bang on triangles and make horrible noises with kazoos. We were called the Polar Bear Band, and we weren't good. We were, however, totally adorable and at that age not a whole lot else matters. But since you can't coast through life on looks alone (generally) we had to learn to play some instruments. Real instruments. By the age of seven, we all finally had something. Then we needed a new name. We must have been having some sort of identity crisis. And being small children, we picked out some of the worst names in the world. The Salmon Egg Band, The Clover Bud Band, and The Orca Band were the top contenders. Thank goodness we saved ourselves by creating an acronym. For a long time we were S.E.C.B.O.B but everyone pronounced that wrong, which a short E instead of a long one. Understandable, really, but it wasn't right. So we changed the spelling to SeekBob because by then we weren't really attatched to those symbolic letters. Now the band consists of Kalia Yeagle, Forrest Allen, Garren Volper, and Emily McLaughlin. We have had other members in the band, but bands evolve just like everything else, and it will probably stay the way it is now. We don't tie ourselves down to one specific genre, because we really play whatever we like. Thank you for being our friend.

For those who haven't heard, we'll be in the studio these next few months to record a new album with the renowned reggae singer, Eyon Irie. After that it's summer shows and writing songs for the next Orbits album!
In the meantime, if you don't have our self-titled cd yet, you can still pick it up on CD Baby and Itunes.
Unfortunately no, I missed the fair show. I had a soccer team end of season barbecue thing on sunday, so I went to the fair on Saturday. Did you catch the Creedence Clearwater Revival/The Eagles tribute band?
