Wild guitars, heavy drums, and screaming vocals... this is what Christian Rock band Seeking Silence is all about.
Seeking Silence started back in January of 2007 from lead guitarist Cobrette Bardole and bassist Shane Rowe. Soon after Tyler Swain filled in on the drums and Tom Verbos took the place of rhythm guitarist. While in need of a singer, Seeking Silence met their youth group leader Alan Stidfole who filled in on vocals and now manages the group while fellow friend Aleks Melnick sings.
Among Seeking Silence's first gigs were numerous shows at Cornerstone Christian Church in Duncannon, and a few shows at The Facktory in Liverpool, PA. "One time on the way to The Facktory, we had to fit two half stack amps, a bass amp, two guitars, a bass, all the cables, and 4 people into a tiny Honda. When we got there it was a major relief to get everyone out and play the show. We even got encored." Soon after Seeking Silence had performed at The Facktory a few times, the local magazine “Bandwagon” interviewed them to be one of the five bands to be featured in the first edition of their magazine. Bandwagon then held a Battle of the Bands featuring Seeking Silence with 4 other bands. Seeking Silence placed second (and missed first by 4 votes).
In January of 2008, Seeking Silence recorded their first two original songs "That Song They Play" and "Sounds Like It's Hungry" at Seventh Wave Studios in Harrisburg which still featured Alan Stidfole on vocals. Now with five fully completed original songs, Seeking Silence is starting to play all around Central Pennsylvania and is working towards creating new songs. In the fall/winter of 2008 they also plan to return to Seventh Wave Studios to re-record their previously two recorded tracks with Aleks' vocals and record new songs "It's Not A Name, It's A Hand Signal", "Suffer The Storm", and "Canada Eh?". After recording the new tracks, Seeking Silence plans to be releasing their first, self-titled EP featuring their five original tracks.
