Upcoming Shows
In the mid-winter of 2003, the culmination of metal, rock and roll, southern rock, and classical took music by the throat in a small suburb of Indianapolis, Beech Grove. Amongst a town of band after band, trial after trial, error after error, the current elite became quite restless in a quest to put together a working band. Frustrated with the angst of conformity to punk bands, a desperate and collapsing rock band was about to experience just the revival it needed. Wes Goble, a Beech Grove native strung together the fallen pieces of his band former, to create anew. Steve Viles, the drummer from the first band was the first to sign on to the project. Bringing his experience from the latter bands, Steve brought enthusiasm to the band, and gave hope to the dream that would eventually become reality. Next to sign on was Chris Danz II. A reluctant member, he came from another band that was going nowhere, fast. A past guitarist, became our current singer. Wes Goble called upon a past band member and good friend Chris DeWeese to join the project. DeWeese was currently in another band with Viles and another acquantance Matt Young on bass. After the downfall of his band, he realized that Wes's unnamed band would be the place for him, finally. And so it was, four of the five pieces of the puzzle. A band of friends and strangers learned their first song written by Wes, soon to be called "Lock and Load," and set on from there. Taking from earlier experiences, Goble and DeWeese became an instrumentally excelling clan, branching out into each others' styles, and bringing in new ideas and fresh riffs for the songs they would make. Though the process was grueling and lengthy, somehow it was put together. A problem arose that took precidence over others, the need for a bass guitarist. Chris Sutter was called upon to fill in for the bass, and added stage presence to the band. After completing the lineup, a title was decided upon by Wes and DeWeese... Seek The Riot. Eventually compiling song after song in their repertoire, they began gigging. After a while, many problems surfaced, although a band isn't complete without them. A year and a half later, Sutter decided to quit the band for outside reasons, and found a replacement for his spot, our friend and former bandmate, Matt Young. Since then, the band has been becoming well versed in the music and media business, and is now looking through their portfolio; writing, changing, fixing, and reviving songs for their upcoming EP. Wes also began a recording studio with some help from bandmate DeWeese, not named for the time being. Due to differences in the band and other things, Wes is no longer in the band, although he has a new project going on, and he has some of his own songs from STR that he will be using, and we all wish him a lot of luck on his project. Times are slow and school and work is getting in the way of the band, but both Danz and DeWeese are working on a lot of new material on their own, in preparation to encorporate into the band.
To be continued...
