Bio:
Starting as a reunion of childhood friends, Eric Zirlinger (vocals,
guitar, keyboard), Wayne Silver (lead guitar), Michael Denton
(drums), and Joey None (bass), SEER officially formed in late 2003. The band developed their sound quickly, and by mid-2004
SEER had released their self-titled EP and their powerful live show had
built them a following in their native Long Island.
SEER released their debut full-length album, 2020, in March 2006. In a style that is distinctly SEER’s, 2020
showcases a sound that is both beautiful and evocative, drawing from
grandiose arena rock, inspired by the likes of Radiohead, Coldplay,
Tool, Pink Floyd and Jeff Buckley. Relying heavily on texture over
their musicianship, SEER creates an ambient sound over an alternative
rock foundation. 2020 helped the band make a mark on the
New York music scene. That buzz has gained them attention in the
industry, allowing them the opportunities to open up for national acts
such as Days of the New, Eisley, The Sleeping, Simon Dawes, Brighten,
Rev Theory, Uncrowned, and Vaeda.
In January 2007, determined to get their music to a broader audience,
SEER began a whirlwind four-month tour across the U.S., performing in
over 20 states, including playing at South By Southwest, in Austin, TX,
captivating audiences with their powerful and emotional live show. By
the time the band had returned to New York, they had become a nationally
known band that had been played on over 200 radio stations, including
New York's 92.3 K-Rock Radio, as well as Maxim Radio on Sirius 108.
SEER is currently writing and recording their second album.
Press:
"...these guys have completely mastered the art of music as a full
landscape. Not one channel goes to waste, and it is damn near
impossible to not want to hear what they are going to be doing next,
whether it's within the boundaries of a particular song, an album, or
the band's career. Pay very close attention to these guys in the
future." - Steve-O, Wrank Music
"[A] more rocking Radiohead ... certainly worth your time and
attention. Long Island comes through with some interesting and
promising music." - Kevin Nolan, Under The Volcano
"...a sound that will surely move people, both on record and live." - Dan Brown, Goodtimes Magazine
But we have very very exciting news. Production on the NEW Seer album has begun!
Since entering seclusion, we've been working hard on our new material. We're excited to tell you that the new material is the best that Seer has ever made. After spending so much time touring and performing, it feels great to be back in the mode of writing and recording songs, and shaping the sound of the 2009 version of Seer. Songs have been demoed, parts are being refined, and in a few short weeks, we will enter VuDu Studios in Freeport, NY, to track drums.
No shows are booked at the moment, but as the weather gets warmer, expect to see shows added to the calendar. What better way to get a glimpse of the next album! :)
But before that, you can expect to see photo/video blogs of the process. This one's gonna be HEAVILY documented!!
Peace and Love,
