God has blessed me with many talents and interests and I thank him for it. Whenever I can, I build on my art and try to change the world around me in some way. Music
I've really been getting into Gospel/Inspirational/Christian music again lately. I still love me some Beyonce', I think she'll be one of very few R&B artists that I'll continue to listen to. It's nothing personal, I just wanna put more energy into God and it's hard to listen to music that you can't be in agreement with (I hope that makes sense-lol).
I'm going through a lot of crap right now (if you read my blogs, you know that), so my Cousin Marcus (add him-he's great!!!!) suggested that I listen to this song called "Encourage Yourself". It helped me a lot. It's a Gospel song, but you don't have to be religious or a Christian to listen to it.
Movies
Horror and comedy. I have all Beyonce's movies, she's my favorite R&B artist. "Milo and Otis", "The Lion King", "Father of the Bride"-1 and 2, "Enough" and "U-Turn"-the two best Jennifer Lopez movies-in my opinion. "Why I Wore Lipstick To My Mastectomy" (a lifetime movie-if you wanna see true courage and strength, go find that movie). I like those dollar DVDs they have at Wal-Mart (my favorite store). The one I like the most so far is "Someone Is Watching" (horror/suspense). I've also hopped on the Tyler Perry ban wagon, now I see why he's so successful, he's very talented :-)
Television
Family Guy, Entertainment shows like Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood, E! News Live, The Daily 10 (mainly to see if they talk about Beyonce'-lol). Cops, The First 48. I love shows about Science, Forensics, Technology and anything that will keep my attention. HGTV is one of my favorite channels.
Books
The Bible, self-help books. The Root Of Rejection and Battlefield Of The Mind (Joyce Meyer), My Utmost For His Highest (Oswald Chambers), and The Dictionary.
Heroes
The definition of the word "Hero" has many meanings to many people, but to me, the word hero is not just about an instance, it's about integrity. People like my Mother and my Grandmother, who have given me the best they could, though I know they wished to give me more. People like Anthony Hatcher; my Father, my teacher, my Bishop and my friend. He has pushed me further than I thought I could go, and he has taught me that I can go much further. Jesus is my number one hero. He laid down his life for me. He took on all my sins and mistakes so that I can one day be with our Father in Heaven. To all my heroes, I thank you.
About me: I live for Jesus because he died for me. I'm not a holy-roller judgmental Christian, even though there are a lot of them out there! I love the Lord and that's all I have to say (actually, I have PLENTY to say-lol). I'm a 22 year old girly-girl that loves life. I will not allow what goes on in this world to bring me down. I'm choosing to see the silver lining, even if it's a bit thin sometimes. I'm an aspiring Songwriter/Producer with a drive that is sometimes scary. I talk a lot, but I also love to listen. If you feel I must prove myself to you, we will never get along. I've wasted too much of my life being wrapped up in what people think. God accepts me and that's all that matters. God has brought me out of a lot of terrible things, so I devote a lot of time to things concerning him. I have a crazy sense of humor and a lot of things make me laugh. I love to do "intentionally bad karaoke" lol. I love to sing. I'm starting to become more confident in that. I allowed my self-worth to fall so low, but now I know my worth-priceless...Don't be discouraged when life throws you a curve ball. God doesn't allow us to go through things because he hates us, he does it because he loves us and wants us to be strong. God is making me stronger, and I hope you will be as well.
Who I'd like to meet: I'm so surprised at myself that I didn't think to put Jesus' name on this part. I have so many questions for him and I'd probably stalk him if he we're here in the flesh right now-lol. I would love to meet Beyonce', she's my favorite R&B singer. If I had to choose one R&B artist to listen to, it would be her :-) New friends, producers, singers, songwriters. If I deny you as a friend, it's nothing personal. I don't think I'm better than anybody else! It's like in regular life, you decide who you want to be around and whatnot. If I don't feel compatible or feel a connection with someone, what's the use of adding them as a friend, you know? I know a lot of people just add someone because they requested it. It's one thing if you're a celebrity or a singer or something, you add because they're fans, but I ain't a star (yet-haha). I really should put this in a blog, but if you send a friend request and your page is private, more than likely I won't respond. Anyway, I know I really don't have to go into this, but I'm sensitive and if someone denied me, I'd wonder why. Like I said, NOTHING PERSONAL!
