Segeke (Shigeki Tamura) is a musician/producer living in Osaka Japan.
He is the guitarist of legendary Japanese underground band A Hundred Birds,
and has developed a deep body of solo work in purely electronic music.
Starting in 2001, he began making tracks as "Segeke," where he pursues his own production style and unique sound.
He develops his own production and recording systems,
and uses them for live shows and DJ sets covering deep / tech / minimal house.
He also enjoys collaborations with artists from different genres.
He sometimes plays at art installations where he chooses to play ambient / downtempo.
Since this type of music was one of the first he produced, it's natural for him to revisit these sounds.
Currently, his music is available for download at www.beatport.com and junodownload.com, an internet music portal.
His label, Geometric Deck, frequently has its releases in the "Top" list for minimal techno and tech house.
Segeke's output on Geometric Deck is regular and solid, and the high number of downloads on Beatport and Junodownload prove he has a developing fan base amongst club DJs and home listeners.
In 2005, Segeke began a project called "Pocket Pet" with David Last.
He met David, a graphic artist and musician, in Osaka.
They played a session together at a prive party.
They have released a 12" EP on Goosehound called "We Send It EP".
More Pocket Pet releases are planned.
In September 2006, Geometricdeck began its operation.
